Aqua Universalis by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Aqau Universalis comes off as an ethereal cologne with a very clean and refreshing "just out of the shower" feeling to it. It's on par with Chanel's Eau de Cologne but doesn't have any of the sweet accords which emanate from the Chanel offering. Overall,AU is the epitome of an eau de cologne in my opinion and not an eau de toilette as Aqua Universalis is light as a cloud and angelic in that it comes to refresh you only to leave you after having completed its mission. Re-application is needed with this one and no worries as AU comes off as being fairly linear in its progression. Perfect for the summer and for those looking for something that won't weigh them down with overtones of a synthetic citrus which lingers like the guest who just won't leave. Perfectly unisex and not as musky nor feminine compared to its Forte "sibling." Chanel Eau de Cologne, you have met your match.

Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior

The modern reinterpretation has a close vibe to the original Armani Pour Homme. This cologne is a true gentleman's cologne which would be perfectly suitable as a "signature scent" as it exudes character with high pedigree. Class in a bottle. Timeless. Steve Mcqueen chose Eau Savage as his "signature scent" and that in itself speaks volumes about this modern day reinterpretation of a scent that has stood the test of time.

Platinum Égoïste by Chanel

This is an absolute classic in my humble opinion, but what happened to it after it was reformulated? Longevity seems to have been curtailed by half of what it used to be or maybe it's just my skin.
