Decidedley average after the Baldessarini.

Chanel Pour Monsieur by Chanel

If I didn't wash for a week, I would smell better than this!

Allure Homme Edition Blanche by Chanel

I agree with Kevin on nowsmellthis, but I still like it enough to buy it.

Baldessarini by Baldessarini

I am surprised by many of the reviews that say this scent does not last. On me it lasts for hours. One of my current favourites.

Armani Eau Pour Homme by Giorgio Armani

I have owned Armani Eau Pour Homme many times. These days I am looking for more natural, complex and less brash fragrances, but this I used to love to wear.

Very Irrésistible for Men by Givenchy

Come closer and be charmed. There is a low key sophistication to this fragrance, however it is not ground breaking or sufficiently different to seek it out and buy it. If someone gives you this as a gift, you will like and use it, but probably never replace it.

Dunhill London by Alfred Dunhill

Stands firmly in the shadow of the infinitely superior Dunhill Edition. This fragrance that is named after one of the worlds great cities, shares none of it's character. Give it a miss. Generic, boring, unremarkable.

Cool Water by Davidoff

A straight forward fragrance to splash on before going to the gym. Nothing more.

Black XS by Paco Rabanne

Not exactly subtle, this scent smells predominantly of strawberry on me. If I want to smell of fruit I'll rub myself in it, not spray myself with a food essence. It's hard to imagine this coming out of a French fashion house. Perhaps some American muffin food chain...?

Unforgivable Black by Sean John

I own it. You can have it. Indistinct and muddled.

Dunhill Edition by Alfred Dunhill

My brother gave me a bottle of this in 1990 and I was immediately fascinated. Over the intervening 18 years I have had many bottles. To me it conjures up images of wool imbued with fine white tobacco smoke, dark libraries surrounded by leather bound volumes and the clink of fine crystal glasses full of Scotch in the background. Mature, masculine, comforting, it is also a confident scent that can be worn for almost any occasion. I would go so far as to say that this is my signature scent. Just buy it.
