| | Silver Mountain Water by CreedOf all the Creeds, this is so far my favorite (aside from Erolfa). SMW to my nose is invigorating freshness. It is extremely clean. I don't get the "ink" connections others are getting. I DO get the petit grain and ambergris in the dry down and this is what I love the most about the Millesime line. They all somewhat dry down to that ambergris note, but have individual openings and lingering notes that set them apart. 21st September, 2009. |
| | Erolfa by CreedEROLFA. It is a pleasure to finally sit down with the time to review you. After 5 months of sampling you, it's time to share my 2. 21st September, 2009. |
| | Joop! Go Electric Heat by Joop!A BIG NO THANK YOU ON THIS ONE. 14th June, 2009. |
| | Joop! Jump Electric Heat by Joop! This is IMO most certainly better than the Go Electric Heat 2009. While that one induces mind splitting headaches, the Jump Electric Heat is much softer and approachable. This is a warm scent that can be applied liberally. It's that soft. I can smell patchouli more than anything in here. 14th June, 2009. |
| | Rochas Man by RochasEasy to find cheap and by a long run the most sexy gourmand I have ever smelt. It's like a mix of Axe Kilo body spray and A*Men Angel, only less annoying. Some people compare this to Body Kouros, but I don't smell any similarities besides the fact that both are gourmand scents. This is much softer than BK and easier to accept. 14th June, 2009. |
| | Azzaro pour Homme by AzzaroAn ultimate classic masculine scent. If you want to smell like berries and flowers, this isn't for you. APH is very spicy and sharp. Incredibly long lasting (24 hrs on me) and screams MAN. This exudes pure confidence and presence. It's for the dude who means straight up business and gets to the point with no BS. A carrier of real power and nobleness. Not something to get for a teenager or the college punk. This is a mans cologne. 14th June, 2009. |
| | B*Men by Thierry MuglerA spicier take on A*Men. I own both and prefer this one for the fact that this one has vetiver. It's very masculine and spicy. I don't get much Rhubarb, but I do get a smoky, almost burnt something that kind of annoys me after a while. 17th May, 2009. |
| | Habit Rouge by GuerlainEDT version: 17th May, 2009. |
| | Body Kouros by Yves Saint LaurentI can't fully rate this one because I've only worn it three times so far. 17th May, 2009. |
| | Artisan by John VarvatosOut of the John Varvatos line, this is my least favorite. It smells of orange juice and urine mixed in one. Not a fan, sorry John. I expected much more. 16th April, 2009. |
| | The Dreamer by VersaceDreamer is without a doubt, on my top 5!!! I love it from the moment it's applied till the dreaded event of washing it off. 4th April, 2009. |
| | Kouros by Yves Saint LaurentI can officially say now that Kouros is borderline chemical warfare. I heard so many boasting reviews on here that I bought a bottle and have worn it at least 10 times now. The last time will be my last. It was one of those experiences that leaves such a mark you'll never go back to relive it ever again. I ended up having to lather in strong soap 4 times before getting it off me and had to wash my bedding in bleach. All from only TWO sprays. To add to that, my little brother gagged and felt sick for the rest of the night because he couldn't get the smell out of his head. 4th April, 2009. (Last Edited: 14th June, 2009.) |
| | Joop! Homme by Joop!I have never smelt anything remotely close to Joop! Homme. It's extremely unique and in it's own class. It is so strong it will knock you off your feet if you abuse it's application. One spray is WAY enough, and two, well, your just asking for it... 4th April, 2009. |
| | Mugler Cologne by Thierry MuglerI have tried to like this one over and over again, only to come to the same disappointment every time. I only smell PLASTIC in this one. It's like I've been playing with Fisher-Price toys all day. This isn't comforting or appealing to me in the slightest. Maybe, if I was a teething baby, I'd enjoy this one, but no thank you. 4th April, 2009. |
| | Gucci by Gucci pour Homme by GucciGucci PH doesn't smell terrible. It's safe and clean. It was very hyped up by the industry creating excitement in buyers all around. People were under the impression to rush the stores in hopes of something new and unique. It is everything but that. 25th February, 2009. |
| | Gucci Eau de Parfum II by GucciI see no reason for anyone to dislike this one. Its absolutely one of my favorite top 5 perfumes. My girlfriend has it and it drives me crazy when she wears it. 25th February, 2009. |
| | Drakkar Noir by Guy LarocheI bought a 3.4 oz bottle of Drakkar about 4 years ago and that bottle is still half full. It's to be worn LIGHTLY and some people don't get that. Anything more than 2 sprays is chemical warfare and offensive. It will flat out drive people away. 25th February, 2009. |
| | Dirty English by Juicy CoutureI recently found a 1.7 OZ bottle for cheap and decided to trust the basenotes community reviews. I sprayed it on as soon as I got in the car and the girlfriend took a deep wiff and said she loved it. 10 minutes later I get home and the stuff had lost its presence to my nose. I think it was due to sensory adaption, because my girlfriend could still smell it. 22nd February, 2009. |
| | Flowerbomb by Viktor & RolfWhat a damn shame this one is. Both my mother and sister own this fragrance and its hello and goodbye at lightspeed. The notes are very boring and non chalant. I can't see why anyone would drop the bucks for this one. It's a nice bottle with a popular name. Thats it. 22nd February, 2009. |
| | Allure Homme by ChanelI recently purchased Allure Homme because I had tried it multiple times for months in different seasons to be sure it was going to be a happy buy. 22nd February, 2009. |
| | A*Men / Angel Men by Thierry MuglerAngel Men is a love hate relationship for me. I can only wear it every now and then and when I do, I have to be extremely careful how much of it I apply. Its very strong, and because its one of those "you either like it or you hate it" type of frags, those who hate it will hate you even more for wearing to much of it. So I usually wear it between the shoulder blades and back of the neck. 22nd February, 2009. |
| | Dior Homme Sport by Christian DiorI originally bought this fragrance because my girlfriend liked it so much. It's intense freshness is like walking into a clean room recently wiped down with Pine Sol. No joke. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Set Sail South Seas for Men by Tommy BahamaI picked this one up for real cheap and was shocked at its greatness! I love this scent! It's very lemony accompanied with rum. It's extremely similar to Dior Homme Sport. Its so close that I actually returned sport to just keep this one. My girlfriend and I got to the point where we couldn't tell a significant difference. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Kiton Black by KitonI really studied this fragrance before buying it. I went through review after review on the quest to gain my own impression. I also went through many samples before I purchased this fragrance. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Antidote by Viktor & RolfI am always shocked when people give this one bad reviews. I suppose individual taste is all preference. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Canali Men by CanaliOoooo, this a real keeper I tell yuh! 20th January, 2009. |
| | 212 Sexy Man by Carolina HerreraI have got to say this is the most offensive fragrance I have ever smelt or worn. A guy I know did a big review on this stuff saying it was incredible, bla bla bla, and so I got pumped to try it. 20th January, 2009. |
| | L'Homme by Yves Saint LaurentThis is the one fragrance I could wear at any time and not wonder if it was a bad idea. It always smells good to me and my girlfriend loves it. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Terre d'Hermès by HermèsThe first time I smelt this cologne, it reminded me of something an older man would wear. Had that old school, spicy gasoline smell to it. I put the scent strip down and went on my way. 20th January, 2009. |
| | Polo Black by Ralph LaurenI bought this fragrance without wearing it on my own skin. Bad bad idea. It smelled great on someone else I knew, but on me I had a unbearable headache with in minutes. 20th January, 2009. |
