Vermeil for Men by Vermeil

As mentioned by someone earlier, there is a resemblance to Michael but only in the dry down. The opening, to me seemed a concoction more like Oscar Pour Lui but not as peppery sharp and slightly more floral. A tobacco note is there from the beginning but doesn't take center stage until the dry down occurs. Vermeil starts off smelling like an 80s chypre classic, crisp and green, but then it slowly transitions into a more smokey and mellow scent. It's quite a decent fragrance for the price(3.4 oz for less than $20 on Ebay), not to mention its cool cigar lighter bottle.

Mackie for Men by Bob Mackie

I used to own this frag back in high school and loved it. I remember getting compliments on it all the time. I had forgotten about it for twenty years until I saw it on Ebay and purchased it for under $20. It is a very clean and fresh masculine scent that harmoniously blends sweet citrus notes with lavender. I can also detect a very slight camphor note that lingers in the background. As someone mentioned, it does have similarities with Eternity, just not as sharp. For the price, you can't pass up Mackie if you are wanting a quality addition to your collection.

Carven Homme by Carven

I Purchased this because of the great reviews here on BN. My first impression of this is that it is very similar to Zino by Davidoff, which I had owned years back. Upon review of the notes pyramid for the two, what do ya' know...they are almost IDENTICAL. CH was released 13 years after ZD, and I'm guessing that they must have "borrowed" the same formulation. Rosewood is listed as a top note for ZD and not for CH, although it is obvious that it is there. The only difference in the base notes for the two is Sandal, which is in ZD. All in all CH is a very nice, warm, spicy and slightly floral scent that is not too heavy. The vanilla and rosewood combine nicely in the dry down. Good silage and longevity. Easy to wear for almost any occasion. A great buy for the money.

B*Men by Thierry Mugler

I feel it is my duty to speak out against this fragrance, after seeing how many positive reviews B*Men has received here. Are you guys nuts! I tried not to dog those whom I disagree with, because we are all entitled to our own opinions. But in the end, for the sake of civilized humanity, I am forced to call those out who actually like this stuff. I wear A*Men and love it. If you like the smell of a V8, then this might be for you. There is a reason why it has been discontinued! I thought I'd try using it on my pits as deodorant, but actually would rather smell my BO! The only application I can think of for B*Men is to use it in place of garlic to scare away vampires. Two thumbs down!

Opium pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Hey....who did this? Somebody spat their mouthwash in this bottle of Opium! But wait...it's a vaporizer spray. I don't have the most distinguished nose, but I know just enough to say that this stuff sucks! The only two notes that scream at you are vanilla and Colgate. The scent is way too sweet, the silage and longevity way too long. I won't dog those that like this stuff...I can only ask WHY?

Feeling Man by Jil Sander

Since it was my original quest to find this discontinued fragrance that led me to BN, it is only fitting that I write my very first review about it. FM is a sweet floral(lavender, raspberry & plum) perfectly paired with a warm tobacco base. The scent is intoxicating and has brought many many compliments from women every time I wear it. The lavender is sharper in the opening, but becomes milder as it drys down, perfectly balancing the sweet fruit and tobacco notes. FM's silage is somewhat restrained but perfect IMO, because it's personality isn't the type to scream for attention. Whoever is within arms reach will reach to be in your arms! The longevity is great, as it will last all day. This fragrance ranks among my top 5. I'm clinging to my last few minis that were purchased on Ebay...wish they'd bring it back.
