    Égoïste / L'Égoïste by Chanel

All the hype about Égoïste is true - - THIS IS A WONDERFUL FRAGRANCE.

This exceptionally well balanced blend of seductive spice notes and light, tantalizing Sicilian Tangerine beckons to be worn by a refined, well groomed man.

There is nothing funky, trendy or ostentatious about Égoïste - - it does not smell like snowflakes on frozen cactus, or hot coals sprinkled with vanilla extract. This is a truly lux eau de toilette that can be worn anywhere from the office to a formal reception, any time of the year. It is long lasting, and the drydown is remarkably satisfying.

Chanel Égoïste Pour Homme = an essential fragrance.

    Himalaya by Creed

Himalaya is a beautifully constructed fragance that is sophisticated, warm, and sexy. I detected very little citrus in it, but a light, sweet spice note that made the frag a pleasure to wear from start to finish.

Himalaya reminds me of a refined, luxurious, subtle version of JOHN VARVATOS. While JV can be pretty harsh and medicinal at times (especially if over applied), Himalaya however remains soft and soothing, a gentle glow of a fragrance to be contemplated and savored. Worth the price . . . .

    Silver Mountain Water by Creed

To get right to the point: Silver Mountain Water just does NOT do it for me.

SMW sprays on like it's cousin, Creed Millesime Imperial , but with an obtrusive, FUNKY note in it that turns me off instantly. In fact, SMW is like MI with something else in the mix (everyone keeps mentioning an ink toner smell!?!?!?) that throws the scent off. Luckily, the mysterious funky top note disappears in the dry down.

I adore MI (as well as so many other Creed fragrances), but Silver Mountain Water just goes down the drain for me.

    Green Irish Tweed by Creed

Today, St. Patrick's Day, I wore (of course) Green Irish Tweed.

What a fantastic fragrance! The top notes conjur up images of a lush, verdant park in the middle of spring. G*I*T opens with a refreshing, clean, "woodsy" scent that softens as the fragrance develops into a soft, floral blend. It is a masculine scent, yet very subtle and soft.

The only way that I would improve G*I*T is that the fragrance should last longer, especially the wonderful opening. Sillage (on me) is minimal and after two hours or it needs to be re-applied. Other than that, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    John Varvatos by John Varvatos

John Varvatos is undoubtedly one of the best American fragrances to have come out in recent years. It is modern, cosmopolitan, and wonderfully urbane. Its unusual top notes of medjool and West Indian tamarind tree leaves among others, sets the stage for a fragrance that gets instant notice and approval.

I have worn JV and the logevity is satisfactory, witht a drydown that is warm and sweet.

The perfect fragrance for a power lunch, a night out on the town, or a rendezvous with your sweetheart at the corner café.

Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein

The times I've worn Obsession for Men the ultra sweetness and heaviness of the scent has been overpowering and oppressive. With so many lighter, multi dimenssional fragrances on the market now, I tend to not use Obsession for Men anymore.

Be that as it may, it is still a classic, ground-breakaing scent.

Le Mâle by Jean Paul Gaultier

I can remember the first time I tried Le Mâle vividly. As soon as I sprayed it on, the mint / artemesia / bergamot top notes had a peculiar (and not entirely pleasant) effect on me. I was certain I had made a mistake with this intriguing fragrance, and almost regretted trying it.

However, as the day wore on, the scent actually transformed itself into one of the most delicious and ingenious blends I have ever experienced. The sandalwood / ceder accord was was soothing, while the vanilla note tied it all together into a scrumptuous confection. Le Mâle turned out to be Le Fantastique!

Advice: Use sparingly. Le Mâle is deceptively strong - - if you spray too much, it will overpower you. Used in moderation, it will enchant you.

    Jaïpur Homme by Boucheron

Recently I gave a sample vial of Jaïpur Homme to one of my co-wokers. He tried it right on the spot and nearly did a double flip, exclaiming how utterly wonderful the scent was! He vowed to buy a bottle by the end of the week. ... An awesome reaction to an awesome fragrance.

Jaïpur Homme has a warm, Oriental, mysterious feel that is pure luxury. Wear it and travel to lands far, far away ... Two thumbs up for Boucheron pour Homme and Jaïpur Homme. Both are a must have!

    Boucheron pour Homme by Boucheron

I received a sample of BpH a few years ago and it was love at first spray!

As djolney said, this is "Sophistication in a bottle." The fragrance exudes a warm, floral glow that is masculine, yet refined and romantic. Defnitely not for the teen set, yet BpH is not stuffy or old fashioned.

Boucheron pour Homme and Boucheron Jaipur are among finest fragrances a man can wear.
