Sandalwood by Crabtree & Evelyn
Found this on the Internet. It's not the same as the "original." I haven't been schooled in fragrances, but I noticed immediately that something was different. My nose knows.

Sandalwood (original) by Crabtree & Evelyn
This was the first sandalwood I ever bought (imprint here). Not another like it (including C&E's Sandalwood Eau de Toilette). Light, fresh, like a cool breeze. But the store closed (before the Internet) and couldn't find it locally. Went on to heavier sandalwoods, but couldn't forget this one.
Internet opened ... found something similar (C&E's Sandalwood EDT). It was close, but not the same. If C&E is making the original again, I'll buy it.

Mostly Men by Body Shop
This was a divine frag ... very sandalwoody with vanilla ... loved it. When they announced it was being discontinued, I bought out the shop (5 or 6 flasks) and used it into the new century. Got complements from women and men.
After an exhaustive search, closest I found was Taylor of Old Bond Street Shaving Shop. I use it every day. Lovely!

St James Collection by Taylor of Old Bond Street
This is Taylor's entry into the kids market. I think that's oceanic. Not bad, but not for me.

Eton College Collection by Taylor of Old Bond Street
Didn't do a thing for me. Actually, there's something sickening about the frag and the talc, too.

Bay Rum by Taylor of Old Bond Street
To me, there's nothing wrong with Taylor's bay rum other than the plastic bottle. It's softer than Trumpers or D.R. Harris and wears very well.
The only thing I don't like about it ... plastic bottle.
Taylor's Lavender Water (can't find it anymore) is in a cheap plastic bottle, but is (or was) pure ambrosia. Not perfumy, just the essence of Lavender. Where'd it go?

Sandalwood by Taylor of Old Bond Street
This is a good sandalwood and will wear it in a pinch. It's not too loud and pleasant. It's pretty standard sandalwood.

Mr Taylor by Taylor of Old Bond Street
Very old fashioned. At first, it smells like gin. Wear it for a while and you'll smell like the back of an old coat closet. The soap with the same scent is lovely.

Mr Sidney's by Taylor of Old Bond Street
Has a certain Bactine quality. Smells like something you'd dress a wound with. If you wear it, you'll smell like a sickroom.

Shaving Shop by Taylor of Old Bond Street
At the moment, Taylor of Old Bond Street's Shaving Shop (cologne or aftershave) is my daily scent. It's brilliant.
I read what the other people posted here and, yes, there is something very special about this scent.
There isn't a day goes by that someone doesn't say "You smell so good."
It's cheapish ($35 for aftershave), too.
I can't say the same for Taylor's other scents. Some are atrocious.
