    Eroica by Kanebo

Lemony citrus with dirty musk (something remind me the very same hairy musk of Kouros), with something like civet.
Maybe some frankincence. And something mushroom-like.
Allover it`s clean smooth cologne - like japanese could see french Napoleon who preferred unwashed women ;)

    Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent

I should admit that Kouros is the scent of youngsters` perfume-initiation (you could not find a lion to kill in suburbs).
It`s a smell of good soccer players such as Gazza and Winni Jones, not metrosexuals` David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo.
It`s an olphactive analog of live rotten cheese - more rotten than cheese.

Eau de Lavande by Annick Goutal

A great Lavender scent - bright lavender with powerful powdery and cloudy tonka beans, that will settle in vanilla fields.

Delicious Closet Queen by Etat Libre d'Orange

That`s just perfect summer scent - fresh and contemporary men`s cologne with powdery and tender undercurrent.
    ;)
I like it, I wear it, it lasts almost forever in its feminine side.

    Charogne by Etat Libre d'Orange

It`s one of the best from ELDO.
Gothic flowers: lily, ylang and jasmine with all those fruity and animalic undertones (indole, p-cresole, whatever) and added leather-musk.

Nowadays it`s quite fashionable to wear flowers for men - why not Charogne? (Oh, man, I know about the meaning of name - it does not worry me)

Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d'Orange

Great idea to add some dry and herbal tobacco note (as from wet tobacco or cigar) - to sweet and fruity jasmine!
It`s one of the best scents of ELDO! :)

Sécrétions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d'Orange

I`m with fragola. I like this experience (my wife definitely not).
I can smell a lot in common with L`Homme by YSL in this scent.
Allover impression for me - this is a Mermaid scent. Watery, fishy, and full of glamour.

Eloge du Traitre by Etat Libre d'Orange

I love this scent even though I see some similarities with my Yatagan by Caron too.
EdT is sharper and fresher version of Yatagan, like the young brother.

    Antihéros by Etat Libre d'Orange

In order to be the same as a lot of Parisiennes with great historical perfume experience, this Caron-like scent is good.

It`s a classic made under scandalious name :)

    Rien by Etat Libre d'Orange

It is must-try for all leather fans. It`s not a mainstream leather - very dark, dense, incense-like.
As my friend used to tell: All the brigdes were burned down.

    Divin'enfant by Etat Libre d'Orange

Well, I got not only fleurdorange scent used to calm down French kids.
I got also coffee-gourmand note which is rather good, and great sillage - leather, tobacco and amber.
    Strange scent in gourmand area.
    Gourmand leather?
Robinson Crusoe or Charlie Chaplin eating his boots? ;)

Nombril Immense by Etat Libre d'Orange

It`s one of the best renditions on the patchouly-cologne theme.
It`s very long-living and I wear it a lot as summer days getting hot.

Le Parfum de Thérèse by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

Yes, I`m with Opalsdad saying that Le Parfum de Therese smells alike Diorella, but more feminine (me thinks that it has more plums and melons, maybe more artificial than vintage Diorella)!
And yes, it is multigender scent to wear by either men or women. As almost all parfums made by Genius. Wonder how Frederic Malle make this gem alive again - archives of perfumers are always such a mess and some ingredients of past gone and forgotten...
Great legend about one person parfum - but for me it does not work as it is Diorella with a twist. Anyway - great fragrance!

    Vetiver by Etro

Hes never met more pure, dry and earthy vetiver in the market. Two are close to it - Route du Vetiver MPG (which is refined by musk and blackcurrant) and Vetiver by Grandiflorum (which is sort of spoiled in the top and heart by Aniseed).
But only Etro takes its pure and wild dry root quality without going to citrus colognes (i.e. Guerlain, Carven etc) and make it simple stylish and pure presence.
It lacks in depth comparing to the oil but all refined versions made for wearing has the same feature.
    Linear but stylish.

    Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene

Good green and sober cologne can be worn either men or women. Citrus are gone - and you have green violet leaves and moss. I should say that my friend - model working in Rome and London - used to wear it onto all castings to prevent any sexual harrassment!!!
Certainly an excellent green cologney fragrance for rainy weather!

    Nino Cerruti by Cerruti

I was happy to find this discontinued cologne in some forgotten little perfume store. I`m happy to have it till now.
It`s floral fragrance, beautifully made for men. It means that all flowers are muted (not as fresh and shining as in Knize Ten or Incense Givenchy) and interwoven with woody notes. Special accent onto amber, frankincense and benzoin - all those notes give to this Italian cologne some classic Eastern powdery-incensey-sappy chic and mystery.
The Best Cerruti cologne so far - but very underrated. And it`s a great chance to make it a signature scent!

    Dior Homme by Christian Dior

Very good cologne - best of 2005 year releases for me. Heavenly iris with herbs on top - but to prolong its beauty one must spray over ones dress, not on skin. For iris I`d go for Bois d`Iris by The Different Company.
Understated, muted fragrance for formal wear. Pity - from heart to base it is just neutral sweet, close to skin and almost-nothing-to-say-about scent.

Eau Noire Cologne by Christian Dior

That`s The dark brilliance!!! So concentrate in lavender, immortelle, sage and vanilla - it should named EDP. For me it is a breed of Caron pour Homme and Sables Annick Goutal (minus aniseed). Sweet but with understated noble refinement. Very Hedy, very Slimane.
My girlfriend wears it with a great pleasure as well! ;)

    Vetiver by Santa Maria Novella

I think that rosewood makes SMN Vetiver close to Lorenzo Villoresi Vetiver - which is only Vetiver that come close to SMN and could be compared with.
So I believe this is Italian style cologney Vetiver - it has no iris as Guerlain has got.
Heavy and loaded with citrus, it has sour qualities before it comes to dry and old-mannered base vetiver.
I like it as much as LV stuff. But favourites are another - Serge Lutens, MPG Route du Vetiver, Annick Goutal...

    Santos by Cartier

For my taste, it`s best masculine fragrance from Cartier. Warm and potent, it smells like The Real Man in good shape in his 40-s. I`d love if my memory would keep my father smelling of Santos. Pity, it would not. He always used Chypre.
Wear this, and it will add you 5-10 years in eyes of young girls... ;) And will add you some Bruce Willis character!

    Platinum Égoïste by Chanel

Yes, this is the classic fragrance of 90-s. Every man weared it those times. Hard to wear it right now.
It needs a big break - please, stop to produce it just to make triumphal return after 50 years of forgettance!!

    Pasha by Cartier

    Just The Great jewelry-like bottle!!!
Scent itself is like a KGB agent - i.e. SHADY GREY. You would be pleased by him, all round, no sharp edges, nothing personal to remember - but you could not remind his face after 8 hours.
Yes, it`s polite and smooth floral gentleman cologne, and it fits grey suits perfectly. But not Hedy Slimane type - too designer! - it should remain something in the middle and easily become a crowd...
Typical face of former Soviet Union - but now it`s very unusual too see and smell it on the streets...

    Égoïste / L'Égoïste by Chanel

It`s very beautiful oriental fragrance accented on sandalwood and spicy vanilla. Sorry it`s too sweet for me... and as every Chanel fragrance for men - it is strong and long-lasting!

    Déclaration by Cartier

It`s quite a progressive scent for jewelry company - modern and mainstream fresh, airy and marine. I used to like it - but when almost everyone wearing it, I decide to change my preference to other line. I could not pick the vetiver note in this fresh air - but I clearly see lukewarm Love (not a passion declaration from advertising) in this scent. Maybe - that`s Love-to-work-in-stylish-office?

    Antaeus by Chanel

The cologne All Blacks Rugby team from New Zealand must wear dancing their Hakka!!! Mind you, they promise to kill other team every time they begin to play! ;)
    So Antaeus does.
Two sprays more - and your neighbours in office would suffocate!.. Three more - and flyes would die!.. If you`re not The Boss (well, bad joke), better spray it once on your back. Or use walk-through method. Once.
Potent leather chypre, one of the best in category, and very good for using as a Kharismatic Fragrance. I used to wear it on tough meetings with Big Bad Bosses (well, it`s not only mine experience - all leather scents are good for making strong impressions). Do not forget to wear black!
So no doubts - it reminds me Al Pacino in Godfather every now and then...

To wear this, I should be sure that I`m in touch with my feminine side! Just because it`s Casanova-style fragrance - it fills you with seductive energy and make you feel like a understanding-all-she-says man!

Too heady for me - all those vibrant herbs just rips and shreds my nose unmercifully. I`m trying to forget that I spent money on it. I`d better stay with Nino Cerruti Original.

    Bandit by Robert Piguet

Bandit classified as feminine fragrance and I get it as must-have of Leather theme. But when I leave the bottle in my bathroom - it does not smell like a woman at all!
It has great chypre cuir sillage - warm floral but very powerful. Much better than Anteaus or any other masculine leather chypre I get the chance to smell... Now I`m going to find vintage perfume Bandit as it was changed dramatically from 40-s. Wormwood note (or something that has herbal properties) has gone completely in new version...
Highly recommend Bandit to all leather devoted!

    Diorling by Christian Dior

This brilliant perfume is forgotten. You hardly find it on e-bay. Nobody will understand you when you`d wear it.
But I love this perfume!!! It`s flowery chypre so excellent that I need an endless bottle. Classified as feminine, it is not a curly girly scent but sober autumn cologne for gentleman. Every note is so clear, I even can smell some mushroom accent in it!
Almighty God (or dear Santa)! Please, make its vintage bottle mine!

    Amouage Silver Cologne by Amouage

First of all - it`s modern version of Amouage made for youngsters in 1998. More fresh. More floral and less powdery. Some plum or other fruits. More transparent.
And it`s still fruity (maybe flowery) CHYPRE!
Mandarine, plum and fleur d`orange on the top; Rose, jasmine, orchid, ylang-ylang and heliotrope in the heart; frankincense, amber, sandalwood, patchouly, musk and vetiver - in the traditional base of Amouage perfumes.
I cannot wear Amouage Gold - but Silver Cologne is very wearable. And its chypre qualities are very distinctive - fresh citrus in the beginning and powdery labdanum-patchouly in base.
Hommage to Francois Coty and Guy Robert!
