    Tabu by Dana

I agree wholeheartedly with what some others have said here that Tabu would have been so much more with a higher price tag and a better marketing campaign.
Tabu is far more sophisticated and refined than Angel imo. although I do feel that they both seem a bit old hat now, Tabu for me is 80's and Angel 90's; both very memorable scents of those decades for me, although Tabu is much older.
I find Tabu smooth and well blended, slightly sweet in a good way; sultry, loud, moody, provocative, sexy and suggestive.
This is not the perfume of a timid girl or old church mother; it is more suited to a woman who is forward and self confident, seeking to hypnotise and drag a man back to her boho boudoir for hot sex.
Tabu is an evening scent imo. Wear it with heels and lipstick.
It lasts for eons, projects well and wafts teasingly.
There isn't much change from the top notes to the drydown.
I detect patchoulli, amber and maybe wood and another scent or two, all seamlessley joined to become Tabu.
I don't wear Tabu very often, but it is a staple in my wardrobe, for ahem.....special occasions.
I don't think you will get better value for your perfume dollar than this.
Give it a try, you won't be dissappointed.

    Magical Moon by Hanae Mori

This is a very beautiful, sophisticated and unusual perfume.
    I absolutely adore it.
Different enough to be noticed, and so balanced and pleasant it could be worn in conservative environments, Magical Moon is well mannered yet exotic, and mysterious..
It is warm, smooth, creamy, slightly sweet and well blended.
For the first hour or so, it is pretty strong, the drydown is so beautiful, slightly powdery, and it lasts a lot longer than many other fragrances.
    I use the EDT.
I can smell just the right amount of coconut, orange, musk, incense, amber, a touch of vanilla and some other nice scents I don't know the names of.
To me this is the scent of a warm, sensual, elegant and slightly alternative woman who is probably over 30.

    Pure Poison by Christian Dior

Jasmine!!! A clean floriental, kind of warm but mysteriously cool at the same time, not too sweet, lasts quite a few hours.
    Great for Summer.
Sophisticated and elegant, fresh, classy, pleasant and innoffensive.
    One of the best Diors.
My Mother bought this for me as a gift and at first I wasn't really sure about it; but now it is an important part of my perfume wardrobe, espcially good for those days when I need a confidence boost.
I totally agree with Sunnyfunny that this perfume has an Ice Queen quality about it, like a certain alloofness or coldness and superiority complex; a good one to wear when you need to remind others of their place, keep them at a distance or put up boundaries to protect yourself.....?
    Gorgeous bottle.
    An excellent perfume.

1965 by Carnival Wax - Agatha Blois

When you first apply this it conjures memories of some nasty old fashioned antiseptic being applied to your grazed knees in the school sick room..... Fortunately this quickly passes and then here comes the gingerbread man!
    He is 6 feet tall.
This fragrance reminds me of Christmas.
I smell ginger, cloves, nutmeg, whisky, pepper and maybe wood, smoke and dried fruit.
There is something else in the blend that is intruiging...not sure what it is but it keeps you curious and makes you want to sniff again
    Spicy, sweet, dark and yummy!
This is definitely a gourmand. It is oily, projects quite well and lasts at least 5 hours at good strength, probably more.
    Highly unusual!
Not sure if I'd wear this out but I'm gonna give it a positive as i believe it is an interesting and well crafted perfume that some people will really like.

    Shalimar by Guerlain

I was disappointed by Shalimar, especially as so many others praised it so highly. Maybe the formula has changed over the years?
To me this is a fairly simple perfume, slightly sweet; I detected vanilla and lanolin with maybe some orange. Something slightly off? Lanolin isn't a smell I like, and Shalimar makes me think of freshly baked vanilla cupcake aromas wafting through a barnyard.
I think most Guerlains have a hint of stinky animals woven into the formula somewhere, but usually the droppings, fur mud and straw scents, rather than territorial and reproductive smelly bits which I think make a perfume more provocative. Eeeeek!
I woludn't buy or wear Shalimar, but I will try it again if I see it elsewhere, maybe some vintage stuff is still out there somewhere and I will see why so many like it so much.

    Bandit by Robert Piguet

Oh my!!!!! What the f*^/# !!!! Can you believe this fragrance????
    Bandit is horrific.
I've never smelled a perfume like this before.
A green soapy opening blast, then long lived (about 3 hours on my skin) more soap and shearer's dirty underpants.
Middle notes I clearly get are Lanolin and Urine. Seriously.
The base is strong fresh sweat. Sweat precisely on the cusp of turning nasty; and soap, lots of it.
There is a pleasant smooth creaminess to the base.
Almost inexplicably (I suspect it contains pheremones) I am strangely compelled to go back and sniff this awful fragrance again and again...and again
There is something so intensely sexual, mysterious and addictive hiding under all the nasty stuff here...
Worse still; the dirty bastard is making me horny.
    I feel so ashamed!!!!
I don't think i could wear this as it smells exactly like sweat, soap, wool and nasty stuff, raw and brutal with no attempt whatsoever to prettify itself; but i definitely think Bandit is extremely unusual, strangely sexy, shocking and amazing.
Maybe a tiny amount layered with something loud and pretty could work???
I'm glad to have experienced it's awesome power.
I'm giving it a neutral for now....

Stormtrooper by Carnival Wax - Agatha Blois

Smells exactly like melting plastic and cookies in the oven.
    Unusual, I'll give it that!
I don't want to smell like this, but Stormtrooper is an original and very different perfume.

    Madame X by Ava Luxe

    I love this one!
Sexy, mysterious, and a tiny bit bitchy; lasts well and projects teasingly, stays quite close and hovers slightly; but never engulfing the room.
As a bystander who catches a whiff, your emotions are stirred....What is that smell???
Who is it????....I want to smell it again!!!......
Sophisticated and complex, I detect musk, patchoulli, leather, amber, wood, powder, flowers and some vanilla maybe?
I think this is a femminine frag, and I like that it's warm and a tiny bit sweet but this is balanced by the woody or leather note.
    A very attractive fragrance.
    One of my top 10

Attrape Coeur / Guet-Apens by Guerlain

I was disappointed by this one. Was hoping for something smooth, sexy, warm and sophisticated, especially after some of the reviews; but on me this smells like sickly plasticky rasberry, and i do get a bit of that horse manure barnyard thing too.
Sorry, but i think this is horrible.

Musc Botanique by Strange Invisible Perfumes

Upon application this has a sharp, minty or medicinal smell, which tones down quite quickly and mellows into a sweetish, i think sandalwood and musky scent.
Later on the sandalwood (i think) dies down and the musk seems to develop a little more bite.
The fragrance doesn't project a long way, I have to almost put my nose to my skin to detect it, but it lasts at that low volume for many hours.
Neither offensive or pleasant in my opinion.

    Insolence by Guerlain

    I quite like this one.
It's different; silky smooth and creamy violets, sweet in a good way, unlike so many of those sickly modern fragrances.
This perfume immediately gets your attention, it is very femminine and starts out as pretty yet deliberate and purposeful, refined but fragile. Unusual. it seems to change after a few hours of wear, becoming slightly warmer and plasticky, then later on still it takes a strange turn and starts to smell like unwashed underwear.
It isn't a very far wafting perfume, although the tester i have isn't an atomiser.
