Polo Modern Reserve by Ralph Lauren

Fresh, clean, 'smells nice', not feminine, inexpensive. More wearable than original Polo. Reliable blind buy, if that kind of thing exists. A bit linear for my taste. Give it to your friend who want to smell good but do not want to wear 'woman's perfume.'.

Arabie by Serge Lutens Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido

Dried fruits... Weird but actually nice.
Though I do not know who would wear this. And I do not think it is masculine.
An imagery of black haired girl who achieves cute face and hot body both at same time?

    Neroli by Czech & Speake

Bitter fresh herbal neroli. Not sweet. Think as English version of opening notes of Guerlain Vetiver. Do not expect longevity of powerhouse.
This bitter note gives somewhat repulsive, human-hating impression to me.
Maybe what would Estella of Great Expectations would wear.

Spanish Leather by Geo F Trumper

Quite cute and fluffy for a barbershop cologne, with some floral elements.

    Mémoire d'Homme by Nina Ricci

Typical male woody scent somewhat dry. Linear, a bit boring. If you apply too much it becomes dense incense-y mess.

    Antaeus by Chanel

Truely masculine but not vulgar. Powerful and charming. A bit brooding dark, perhaps? Tends to be warm but sometimes sharp. This scent begs to differ from modern metrosexual scents.
Drydown is somewhat herbal and have honey note that is not overpowering. When I tried it first on hot summer day, it has very powerful powdery drydown. I do not get it these days.

Wild Fern by Geo F Trumper

It is Amazon jungle steamy forest, not English countryside with quiet, wild flowers. Not that I hate jungle steamy forest, just different. I like the shower gel too. I believe it as one of best of Trumpers alongside West Indian Extract of Limes. Better than Penhaligon's since Trumper's have less harsh notes.

    Oberon by Cotswold Perfumery

It's a sweet fougere, I believe Czech & Speake is better of his offerings.

Narciso Rodriguez for Him by Narciso Rodriguez

Curiously coincides with smell of Korean brand Spearmint gum. Drydown is different though since gum do not have drydown. Not bad, but too familiar to make an longlasting impression beside "Oh it smells like a spearmint gum!".

    English Fern by Penhaligon's

Unbearably synthetic. Public lavatory scent dispensers are often more natural than this.

Lavandula / Lavender Water by Cotswold Perfumery

Similar to lavender note Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge but lacking coldness & mint. Soliflore I think.
Quite short lasting. 15~30 minutes on my body.

Odeur 71 by Comme des Garçons

Quite boring scent, but sniff of this scent have made me nauseated. And I remained dizzy for an hour. It remains mystery that why they bothered to make this scent at all.

    Messe de Minuit by Etro

    phase 1 : Winter moon
phase 2 : Cute spooky ghost... Casper and friends!
phase 3 : After that, 2~3 hours of unadulterated dust.

I would appreciate the scent much if that dust dry down disappears.

Dunhill for Men by Alfred Dunhill

Although this is respected cologne I found it has some problems. A pity that I couldn't feel its arrogance, but scent seems detached nonetheless.
Top note is complex, hard to describe. I found some citrus and alcohol on top note but I cannot identify this scent's other elements. And here's my problem. I often found the soapy scent of middle note rather unpleasant, something of cloying. Sometimes I don't have the unpleasant note and have some rose note that my nose is neutral to, so I do not comprehend the pattern here. Perhaps skin chemistry problem? Base note is leather with some spicy grass (vetiver or sandalwood I think, but can't identify it.). If the scent goes citrus-rose-leather/grass it is a nice fragrance, but the random appearance of a soapy note makes it quite unappealing.
