D&G Feminine by Dolce & Gabbana

On me, this is a Big White Floral. It's a little on the "traditional" side-- I don't get much of the "youthful" or "fresh" notes-- it's all white flowers and musk. It IS pretty, though. And it is powerful! When I wear it, people always ask after it, but I can't wear it too often-- it's too "much" when it's humid and hot.

Kai by Kai

I love, love, love Kai! It's a little bit on the pricy side, but it's worth it because it smells just like you plucked a gardenia right off the plant, along with a couple of those green and "spicy" smelling leaves. I don't really get frangipani-- maybe a touch of tiare along with the gardenia (sadly for me, no pikake)... But it definitely interacts with everyone's skin differently; while I find it gorgeous and multifaceted, on my friend it smells like Pure White Floral.

Love at First Glow by J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez

This is a good scent to wear when it is hot and humid outside-- like, when it's summer in Hawaii-- and it's not very demanding and it doesn't really change much from beginning to end. It's juicier and sweeter than Addict 2; it's more complex than Ralph; it's not as sweet as Island Kiss; but it's still a lot like all of those scents!

DKNY Be Delicious by Donna Karan

A very nice SA at Macy's provided me with samples of Be Delicious and I have to say I'm glad she did! I was considering buying it before, but now... it's not a bad scent, but as others have noted, kind of generic. Apple shampoo and Jolly Ranchers-- that's what it brings to mind. I don't really smell any of the other notes listed. I mean, at all. On the plus side, this scent got a LOT of positive comments from my male coworkers and friends.

Black for Her by Kenneth Cole

Maybe I'm crazy or my bottle is "off" but Black for Her smells light, fresh and feminine on me-- it doesn't seem to match up to it's name at all. It is a kind of simple floral scent to me-- and the only connotation I get with "black" is that it seems like a wardrobe staple... just right for those occasions when you don't know what else to wear.

XOXO by XOXO

This is a really light, PINK scent. Very young and girly. It's not awful, but... It seems as though it was meant to appeal to and be worn by the pre-teen set. This is what I imagine Barbie would smell like if she were a "real" person. It's not terribly complex and I think the person who gave this to me might not know me as well as they thought! I can't imagine anyone over 18 wearing this.

Escada by Escada

This new Escada is quite nice-- I live in Hawaii and many times it's way too humid to wear anything heavy or "perfume-y", especially in the daytime. It is definitely not like the "Island Kiss" or "Rockin' Rio" type Escadas. This is a more grown-up Escada, if you will. After the citrusy/fruity opening fades, what I'm left with is a nice, "neutral", eau fraiche-type scent. And it lasts. This is a good one for work or a day on the road.

Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior

The first time my boyfriend (who is a surfer) smelled me put this on, he asked if I was planning on going to the beach without him! Exactly like suntan lotion for the first few minutes. Then it went straight into sexy! It seems to work differently every time... sometimes the vanilla is more obvious and at other times the other notes stand out more... but it always gets my guy's attention!

Voile de Jasmin by Bulgari

Viole de Jasmin is a beautiful, intimate jasmine-- it stays close to the skin and has a soft, powdery quality. This is a fragrance you wear for yourself and for the select person closest to you. (It doesn't seem to last as long as the other Bvlgaris, but I don't mind reapplying.) It's very romantic and the best word to describe it is "pretty". It's a good addition for a fragrance wardrobe. I imagine a woman would choose this as her wedding-day perfume.

V Absolu by Valentino

This is a great fragrance... starts off sparkling, moves into sweetness, and dries down sexy. To me, it's a "dress-up" scent-- not for casual or day wear-- good for a night out on the town. It projects quite a bit, so a light spritz should do it. (It is very noticeable, so if you like "neutral" or "light" fragrances this one is probably not for you.)

Blu by Bulgari

Blu is a very fresh scent that lasts all day. If you overspray it can be overwhelming. But when used judiciously it is feminine without being too flowery and has a nice, almost powdery finish on me. I have even gotten compliments from people who don't care for "perfume-y" scents, they say it just smells clean and slightly sweet.
