Costume National Homme by Costume National

I've never, ever before come across a fragrance with such killer longevity - and sillage to match. This monster just keeps on going like a steam train at full speed.
It makes frags like A*men, Le Male and vintage Poison seem like faint mists of nothing.

Fortunately, the smell itself is to die for - so it's all good!

    Ambergris by Houbigant

    OMG ... simple as that!

    Égoïste Cologne Concentrée by Chanel

There are those who will tell you, that the modern Égoïste is both a sillage and longevity monster. That few juices are stronger than that.

But, my dear friends, the modern EdT is like a faint mist of nothing compared to its vintage formulations. And among them, the Cologne Concentrée is the reigning king.
It's very close in smell to the modern one, just way denser - with sillage to match.

    Two big thumbs up!

    Cuir de Russie by Chanel

Let me quote Tott's review 6 places below mine:

'Today's Cuir de Russie is like a fine leather saddle
soaked with sweat, rather than a luxurious leather
    jacket or car interior.'

    Perfectly stated!

    Two thumbs up!

    Bois des Îles by Chanel

    Les Exclusifs.

Bois des Îles does indeed smell like Égoïste,
or more correctly, the other way around.

I have nothing bad to say about the frag
itself, but, it has really poor longevity.

    No. 18 by Chanel

Chanel N°18 smells like the color yellow!
It's like summer in a bottle.
One of the most original and unique of
    the Exclusifs.
N°18 is a strange fragrance, and I fully
advise y'all, to sample before buying, as
this will not please all - far from it!

N°18 is not the strongest of juices, and
it has a reputation of having poor longe-
vity. Since it's as faint as it is, I simply
spray more times, and that way, I easily
get 6+ hours of decent longevity with
good sillage, too. It doesn't deserve its

As with most, if not all, of the frags in
this line, this one can be worn by a man,
as it is quite unisex - leaning towards the
    feminine side, though.

    Two thumbs up!

    No. 22 by Chanel

If N°5 is considered the mother of aldehydes,
then N°22 must be their queen mother.

The opening blast of aldehydes in N°22 is un-
matched within the world of fragrances.
If you don't know the smell of fizzy aldehydes,
    then take a sniff of the opening blast of N°22;
it's aldehydes in their purest form. Absolutely
gorgeous. It dries down into a soft white floral.

Out of all Les Exclusifs, which are all more or less
male-friendly, this one is the least wearable for
    men - it's über feminine.
The overall feel of this perfume is angelic, to me
N°22 is nowhere near a sillage monster, but, it
    sure has killer longevity.

    Two thumbs up!

Jelly Belly Hot Fudge Sundae by Demeter Fragrance Library

This is the nastiest fragrance I've ever sniffed!

I bought it blind, 'cause it was cheap, and I'm
usually a fan of sweet and cloying juices, but,
    this one is too much.
It's made up from four different jelly beans:
French vanilla; chocolate pudding; cream soda
    and very cherry = nasty!

It's dominated by a ghastly synthetic chocolate
note, which is so intense, that it makes this
frag almost impossible to pull off.

    Two thumbs down!

Vanille Givree des Antilles by La Maison de la Vanille

Smells extremely like Thierry Mugler's Angel.

    Tendre Poison by Christian Dior

I've just resently bought a bottle of this juice,
because it was rumored to be discontinued.
It has been sitting on my shelve ever since.
I'm wearing it today, and I absolutely love it.
This was my mother's signature scent in the
90s, maybe that's why it is so appealing to
    me? Who knows?

It's a strong semi-green floral, as stated before
me, but with a sweet vanilla'ish base.

This neglected Poison needs, no deserves, a
    renaissance ... now!

    Two thumbs up!

Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez

After finding out, that this was Joan Collins signature scent,
I wanted to try it out badly, so, a fellow BNer send me a big
decant, and, oh my God, this is so good.

It's alsolutely as decadent, sexy and vulgar as I have always
imagined a ball at Versailles hosted by Marie Antoinette would
    have been.

This seems to be loved by many celebs too, known users incl.:
    Joan Collins as mentioned; Elizabeth Taylor; Michael Jackson;
    and Queen Elizabeth II herself!

    Two thumbs up.

    No. 5 by Chanel

What can I say?! N°5 is, and will always be, THE classic.
I own the 80s Eau de Parfum, which fits my bombastic
personality best ... God Bless the House of Chanel!

Ange ou Démon Le Secret by Givenchy

OMG! I got a sample of this when I bought D&G The One,
and I am in love. Very sweet and fruity, but not cloying by
    no means.
Another masterpiece from the House of Givenchy ... and
another big load of cash out of the Dukes pocket; I got to
own a big bottle of this juice!

    Two thumb up!

Eau Noire Cologne by Christian Dior

Eew ... that is this?! It's like liquid curry!

I so wanted to love these three colognes,
but the two I have tryed out, has both been
    huge disappointments. Maybe they're just
too refined for me? I don't know!
The last one I need to try out is Bois d'Argent.

Forgive me Lord for being so disloyal towards
the House of Dior, but I just can't stand this!

    L'Instant Magic by Guerlain

Hmm, wanted to correct my first review,
but it got erased instead ...

    Delish ... I love it!

    Ysatis by Givenchy

Ysatis de Givenchy has gone through a reformulation,
and is now much softer than it originally was when
first launched back in 1984. It's stil a classic, though.

It is a 'real' perfume of the ol' days, and may come
    across as a 'grandma' perfume.
Yeah, I think this frag is best suited for mature woman
    ... definitely not for teenagers!

    Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior

I cannot begin to explain how much I love this frag.
It is pure deliciousness in a bottle. So sweet and
sexy it hurts. The perfect frag for a date, or when
one need some loving from ones hubby ... many
men find the smell of HP irresistible, women too!
Of all the perfumes I have ever owned, this frag is
the one which has gotten me the most compliments.

This is some strong juice, though, so for Gods sake
use it sparely, otherwise you'll suffercate your sur-
roundings, as the sillage is unbelievable.

Gourmand creme de la creme, dosn't get much better
    than this ... mums!

If you wanna spent the extra dough, buy the Elixir,
it'll last you longer, as it's an Eau de Parfum Intensé
(it has an added star anise note, though).

    Thumbs up..!

Dior Homme Intense by Christian Dior

A tad more expensive than it's older brother Dior Homme,
but worth every dime. It's an Eau de Parfum, and as such
    it'll last you longer.
I still get the infamous 'lipstick'-smell of Dior Homme, but
the Intense is far more masculine, with a delicious choco-
    laty scent mixed in.

It was launched as a Limited Edition in 50ml bottles only,
but due to it's huge succes, it is now permanent in Dior's
fragrance line, and is now avalible in 100ml bottles too..!

Chanel's Égoïste has always been my signature scent, but
it has gotten severe competition by Dior Homme Intense.

Do yourself a favor, and get a sample of this, you'll love it!

    Gaultier² by Jean Paul Gaultier

Bought this as a blind buy through the marked place
    here on BN.
And my God I love it ... in fact, I want to drink it,
    it's that good.

It last forever on my skin - with great sillage.

Very feminine, so I think it'll scare many dudes away!

    Jaïpur Homme by Boucheron

If you're looking for a sweet scent with
longevity that dosn't stop and great sillage,
look no further, Jaïpur will do the job.
This is some strong juice indeed..!

    Has gotten me many compliments.

    Fahrenheit by Christian Dior

A love/hate frag ... I adore it, it's one of my alltime favorites.
A girlfriend of mine think it smells like rotten pickles,
I don't care, I think it smells like pure masculinity..!

    A classic!

    Two thumbs up.

    Égoïste / L'Égoïste by Chanel

This was my first true love.

I was 15, wanted to try out something more extravagant than mere AXE!
I went to my local perfumerie, and told the saleslady, that I wanted something
spicy and heavy. She sprayed me on some Égoïste, and I was sold!
I know now, that it must have been hugely unflattering on such a young boy,
and that she must have been a poor salesperson to even suggest it to me.
But I am forever gratefull that she did, it has been my signature scent ever since.

With that said, it's not a frag for everybody. It's quite flamboyant.
Don't get scared off by the very harsh topnotes, they'll soon damp off,
and leave a delightfull vanilla'ish smell, that will last you hours and hours.

A true classic ... but please, no blind buys, as it will displease some of you!

I'll give it two thumbs up ... three if I could!

Dune pour Homme by Christian Dior

A fresh lemony Eau de Toilette,
    perfect for teens and beginners.

Dune PH is a youthfull scent
    with topnotes, that strangely
    enough, dosn't seem to quit.
    The instant smell when sprayed
    will continue almost unchanged
    untill the EdT evaporates..!

    Christian Dior never fails.

But the ladies seem to love it..!

    Sun Moon Stars by Lagerfeld

Not only is Karl Lagerfeld one of the sexiest creatures
on the planet, he also has some of the sexiest frags.
And some quite affordable ones too.
To me, this fragrance is a masterpiece, and ought to cost
at least twice as much, as it actually does.

It is a longevity monster, nearly impossible to wash off,
and has such a powerful sillage, that it's almost too much
    ... almost!

This is the smell of the 90s, and reminds me of high school,
as most girls back then wore this. It was hyper trendy when
if was first released - and is still very current. It's timeless!

Can be woren by teenagers as well as older ladies.

Oh, and then it has one of the cutest flacons ever..!

    Spellbound by Estée Lauder

    Another favorite of mine..!
    Very luxurious, very classy.

Note that there is a big risk
that you'll overdo it, two sprays
    are enough.

    Discontinued in Denmark
    ... God know why?!

    Poison by Christian Dior

True glamour. The smell of Alexis Carrington Colby.
This perfume is very rich, beautiful and allmighty.
I seriously can't understand why some find it to be
both nasty and vile ... it's divine!

One of the best perfumes which has ever come from
the House of Dior. Should be in any frag collection,
as it will not be complete without it..!

Viva Dior ... two thumbs up.

    Dolce Vita by Christian Dior

I was an inturn in the Beauty Salon at the Danish Parlament in 1996,
the resident stylist was a big fan of Dolce Vita, so she made all the ladies
    of the government use this.
All of Christiansborg Palads oozed Dolce Vita - and it was divine.

So sweet, so ritch, so feminine ... gotta love this!
