    Still by Jennifer Lopez

Light, effervescent floral with a citrusy champagne-like top note. Fresh and sweet, strong note of black tea, and woody. Reminds me of a short-lived fragrance called "Sassy" which was launched nearly 20 years ago by now-defunct Sassy Magazine. Much, much better than the horrifically soapy "Glow".

    Trésor (new) by Lancôme

Tresor comes on strong. It is woody, smoky, with a hint of bitterness. Lighter elements become apparent as it wears, and fizzy, soda like green notes dissapate to reveal tenacious Oriental undertones. The tiered Art Deco Bottle is classic and gorgeous. However, the ad campaigns lost a great deal when they nixed Isabella Rossellini.

    Beyond Paradise by Estée Lauder

A sweet candy jasmine, this fragrance cannot help its own soapiness. Overly astringent as the effervescent Alka-Seltzer/soap smell becomes tinged with a minty aftershave aura. Dries down to a pleasant innocuous floral. Bottle looks like sand bottle art, very 1980's rainbow suspenders homage.

    Red Door by Elizabeth Arden

This fragrance is awful, it is Jergens meets Dial for an afternoon tryst. Tinge of the funeral home, but too soapy to detect. So overly detergent that it reminds one of the freshly scrubbed church-lady types that assault you with an overly "clean" smelling cloud of fragrance. Bottle is uncreative and square, looks unsurprisingly like a red door, typical of the 1980's era in which it was produced.

    Simply by Clinique

Simply is melony and licoricey, minty fresh like anise candy or Good & Plentys. All sweetness and light, it lacks depth. Depending on your mood, the lack of depth is not always a bad trait. Light, soft, and modern. Openly green without being powdery. Billed as a sweet and spicy oriental. Bottle is utilitarian, basically a cylinder with a white top.

    Bulgari pour Femme by Bulgari

An unusual fragrance. Pepper is the first note detectable, a powdery, light spicy smell mitigated by the sweetness of green tea. A scent that is sweet without being soapy or candy-like. Dry and reserved, subtle. Slightly bitter and honey-like. Bottle is a squat temple-like polyhedra with a hat-like white cap.
