    Ginger Musk by Montale

I get no ginger, no musk, and for a fraction of the cost, Rare Gold by Avon smells just like it. Almost has me wondering if sample is mislabeled.

    China Rose by Floris

Funny, neither rose nor musk are listed as notes. I think this has big sillage & staying power, and always got compliments when wearing. Very similar to Guerlain's Nahema.

Bijan VIP for Women by Bijan

Was a gift, and on me it takes on a warm plastic smell. Nice bottle.

    FCUK Her by French Connection

Bought sample based on positive reviews, hoping for an unassuming, inexpensive everday scent. On me it smells like common citrus, acrid, and quickly disappears.

    Nahéma by Guerlain

Introduced to this by stepmother--it's her signature scent. On her it is amazing: dressy, feminine, confident...and unlike any other I'd smelled. I coveted this but got the EDP which, on me, was less interesting than the parfum is on her. I love it but opt for Floris's China Rose for my own use.

    Norell by Norell

The only word that hasn't been used in these Norell reviews is musky! Is the reformulated version really woodsy, amber, white floral, heart floral, citrus, green, aldehydic, animalic, leathery, chypre, chalky and soapy? Must be one heck of a fragrance.

    Prada Infusion d'Iris by Prada

A current favorite. To my nose, it holds itself apart from anything else I've worn. Floral but not cloying, and then just a little white musk that leaves sniffing for more. Good for daytime.

Goldleaf / Goldleaf & Hydrangea by Thymes

Signature scent of my best friend, and she has it every medium: perfume, lotion, powder, room spray, candle. It smells great in her boudoir always. Unfortunately, on her person, it smells good at first (warm, uncommon, rich) but then it turns. It becomes "perfumed old lady whose diaper is damp." I can hardly stand it but I do not say anything because no one else seems to dislike it. I also have this response to a heavy dose of Tide laundry detergent's scent.

    Jean Nate by Revlon

One of those scents forever etched in olfactory memory, like original Coppertone and Noxcema. Too drying for my skin but love the scent.

    Fracas by Robert Piguet

I once wore this on a plane and felt terrible when Fracas caused a dramatic allergic reaction by my stranger-seatmate. I love it, but it is heavy and potent. To be used sparingly.
