Himalaya by Creed

Good sillage but only average longevity considering the price. Superb blend though and great balance. Clearly a well made fragrance and highly exclusive. Can't imagine too many people not liking this for the fragrance itself. Can however imagine many will be put off by the price tag which is twice as big as most others. A modern Creed though and wallet providing, a solid purchase.

Vera Wang for Men by Vera Wang

This has some lovely notes in it and it is well blended. Sillage good but longevity is indeed at best average as many have commented. A more concentrated version would be a boon for VW wearers. Other than that though a very pleasing, classy and quite exclusive fragrance. Apparantly this is the choice of Will Smith, for those people who like to wear what the celebs wear. It's very good in its own right this one and worth a try if you are not already familiar with it.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

The world famous Green Irish Tweed. Admired from Carg Grant to Robbie Williams. Does it live up to the hype? Well like all fragrances, beauty is in the nose of the smeller, as it were. It certainly is well made and has great sillage and longevity. For me it is too heady and too green and there is one note that is too prominent. Don't ask me which ( ask Oliver Creed !). So definitely a must to try before you buy , especially bearing in mind the hefty price tag. I far prefer Creed Himalaya. I give it a neutral as i'd probably like to smell this on someone else . I just wouldn't want to smell it on myself all day ... again !

Marc Jacobs for Men by Marc Jacobs

According to the Creed website Marc Jacobs was the 2nd best selling fragrance (Green Irish Tweed being first). For good reason i say . It is an interesting cologne which is very different to most others. It is that difference that draws you in and keeps you applying. Some say it smells of coconut and i know what they mean but i don't think that is one of the notes. Just an olfactory illusion. After a few days of wearing it no longer resembles coconut ....weird how teh brain learns how to interpret a fragrance. Anyway , this is a winner. Smooth blending, no sharpness, good sillage and good longevity. Doesn't smell synthetic like some of the more popular houses (eg Hugo Boss). Perhaps the best way to describe this one is pleasantly and addictively intruiging. Thumbs up!

Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana

OK .. here goes .. a dissenting voice in the sea of D and G pur homme admirers .... i like when others wear it in as much as it stands out and is interesting and pleasant but yet again i only like it in small doses ...so a thumbs down for this one ( ...but probably more out of jealousy as i can't seem to wear it when everyone else can !!)

Acqua di Giņ pour Homme by Giorgio Armani

If you think of fragrances as either "heavy" or "light" or "high" or "low" this one is really really "light" or "high" ...hard to explain but although i always like the first whiff of this that's all i can personally take.... nice smell but i prefer others to wear it ! So a thumbs up but only on that basis ..but buyers beware ...you might end up giving your bottle to your pal !

Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein

What a weird smelling fragrance ! Not a bad smell but just weird . Don't know how else to describe it . Wore it for a while but won't be going down that road again for... well......an eternity

Baldessarini by Baldessarini

Liked this one at first but have abandoned my bottle after finding it too sweet . Boss make all their fragrances quite potent in one way or another and i just can't take to them ....

Boss in Motion by Hugo Boss

I'm detecting a trend here .... the bigger the gimic with the bottle the less i like the fragrance ! Be careful not to spritz into your eye . The fragrance is too sweet by the way . Simple as that .

DKNY Men by Donna Karan

Wouldn't recommend this one ... sorry DK ... little hint .. when you do get the fragrance right you won't need a major gimic for the bottle and perhaps the next one will stand out from the masses without falling over amongst them !

Le Māle by Jean Paul Gaultier

Never taken to this one ... tried it .. but it's one of those that has something musty about it ( for me at least anyway ) ... It has always reminded me of something .. i think it's that kids stuff .. " Play Dough "?

Echo by Davidoff

Doesn't work for me ... It's never a good sign when you want to shower it off an hour after you sprayed it on ...( been relegated to toilet air freshener !)

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme by Issey Miyake

Distinctive and pleasant enough when you get used to it but there is something about it that doesn't ring true . Maybe it's just becoming a little boring .
