Burning Leaves by CB I Hate Perfume

So faithful that I got the memory of a place I stayed before recognizing the smell as burning leaves - I didn't register at the time that that was what I was smelling there, this made me realise.

Rose Poivrée by The Different Company

A strong red rose tamed by pepper, releasing an even wilder side.

Patchouli 24 by Le Labo

Love it! Brings back memories of hospital antiseptic, but good ones.

Le Mâle by Jean Paul Gaultier

Human, not animalic male musk. Could pass for body chemistry.

Sultan Safran / Safranier by Comptoir Sud Pacifique

Tart saffron, a strong but light spicy opening and mids, the baton passed to pink rose, then oakmoss-fresh musk, patchouli lingering at the end. A perennial go-to, still novel even having been made in 1996.

Muscs Koublaï Khän by Serge Lutens Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido

Sécrétions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d'Orange

Went to the public restroom to wash it off worried I might leave smelling more of it than when I arrived, felt a little bit like a victim of a cruel prank.

A benchmark, only for the very brave.

Black Aoud by Montale

Here a real gothic. Strong, dark, serious, still light-hearted enough for everyday use.

Dark Rose by Czech & Speake

Rose, stronger than aoud here though tempered by it. Conservative like Montale Aoud Damascus but in Dark Rose the rose plays the greater role, sweeter and less powdery.
