Piment Brûlant by L'Artisan Parfumeur
I agree with the comparison to Omnia. THis is a great green scent with a rich chocolate powder, cocoa-type dry scent as its underbelly. Surprisingly sexy in a totally unconventional way. it does smell bell pepper like, not as hot hot hot as Poivre Piquant.

Safran Troublant by L'Artisan Parfumeur
Hooray. Hooray I say because i can smell something like a mixture of baklawa and tea, but not so foody that i want to eat myself or feel like wretching...and the rose! it's so SOFT! it actually smells like ROSE and not like pot pourri. And even better...they have it in full size bottles now on Lucky Scent. Oh JOY.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 3 Incense: Avignon by Comme des Garçons
Mass in a Glass. good for all us recovering catholics who want the smells and bells minus the confession.

Comme des Garçons Parfum by Comme des Garçons
In order to truly appreciate this fragrance's "in your face" avant-garde ness i think you have to put it in context...imagine 1994. this smells like 1994. More specifically it smells like Comme des Garcons fashion circa 1994. Finding a unique and somewhat outlandish moment between traditional arts and a vivid imagination...spices, remixed, minus the comfort.

Helmut Lang Woman by Helmut Lang
absolutely delicious. I loved it when it first came out and saved my money for a big bottle. I sensuous and sexy, has notes that remind me of Santa Maria Novella Heliotropo and Agent Provacateur, although more vanilla in HL.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 7 Sweet: Nomad Tea by Comme des Garçons
I have to add a note because i changed my mind about this one. yes it does have a slight dentist office beginning, but i found myself wanting to wear it more and more...so much so that i am buying a bottle. it is fresh and sort of business like and at the same time playful. clear but quirky. I do not, however smell anything approaching tea. but it's lovely all the same.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 7 Sweet: Wood Coffee by Comme des Garçons
I am going to disagree with everyone...i really liked this. It started off gently spicy and then left me with a dry down that really was subtle...it didn't smell like perfume. it honestly smelled as if i had stuck my wrist in a bag of espresso several hours after putting a very nice perfume on. I really like its warm unperfume perfume smell. THis is my favourite of the series, easily, along with nomad tea.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 7 Sweet: Sticky Cake by Comme des Garçons
I have to say i am shocked. I hate to be totally contradictory to calchic, but i really really hated this one. I don't know if it's something in my personal history but of all the series 7 scents this was the one i had to wash off...it smelled like something you would find in a drug store for a "sophisticated" teenager only longer lasting because of course the ingredients are better. ugh. I found it to be quite strong too. not that i gave it much time to sink in.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 7 Sweet: Burnt Sugar by Comme des Garçons
sweet swweet swwweet/ I smelled it in the phial and thought: aaah. this is lovely. balanced. delicious. put it on and almost passed out from the sweetness. fortunately it developed into something a bit more complex, but for my money Nomad Tea or Wood Coffee are much better from this series.

Poivre Piquant by L'Artisan Parfumeur
just got this. loved the white pepper start that tickled my nose, and the warm soft slightly sweet but dry smell that backed it up. it is a winner. At first I thought it reminded me of the pepper note in estee lauder's Pleasures (not a good link, if you ask me) but then realized, after the dry down that all 3 of these (in the love potions set) are not like anything i have smelled in dept. stores, but rather VERY like perfume oils i purchased in Mumbai, India. the difference is they are significantly lighter, and work better in the cold environment here, i think. Definitely give it a try!

IO "Capri" by Carthusia
A wonderful fresh fragrance...all rosemary and juniper and fig, with a milkiness at the center. Light, but not too light, Sweet, but not too sweet. I was enamoured of my bottle and wore it constantly for the time I had it. My boyfriend liked it so much he wore it while i was away and found it utterly suitable for men's use.

Yohji by Yohji Yamamoto
I used to wear this constantly. It is definitely a warm vanilla-y amber-y mixture but with an extraordinary green note that punches you in the face...it always smelled a little bit plastic to me, in a good way. The sweetness is tempered, it isn't the sort of thing that will turn you off, or it didn't me, anyway. In fact, based on the smell of YY, my boyfriend hunted down YY for men, and loved it. mmmm.

Shocking by Elsa Schiaparelli
I got this when i was about 16 and was going through a phase for POWER scents, the sort of SEXY scents that could knock people out at 40 paces...and make me feel grown up. I can't wear it now. It would be great updated and slightly lighter but i find the honey a bit cloying...reminds me of Vivienne Westwood. Makes me feel Ditzy. I think a lot of people will love the sex kitten aspect though.

Armani Mania by Giorgio Armani
My brother bought me this in lieu of Donna Karan Chaos. It is siiimmmmilllar. But lacks the edge, for me. It seems a bit light and alcohol-y compared to DK and i think the body could be greatly improved. It feels a bit cheap. But thanks to my bro. I guess some people who aren't into punch but want something not floral will like it.

Boudoir by Vivienne Westwood
It's lovely but frankly TOO MUCH. for a blast of boudoir i go for Annick Goutal's Grand Amour which has a bit more grounding. THis makes me feel like a powder puff. My mother loves it though.

Chaos by Donna Karan
WHy oh Why did they discontinue this. It was lovely. Warm but with a slight medicinal edge, just masculine enough to be androgynous. Delicious Cardamom softness on drydown. i still have a half inch in the bottle and I am loathe to use it. :(
