Bulgari pour Homme Extreme by Bulgari

This is such a gentlemanly cologne. Fresh and clean and the pepper notes are very sexy. My husband is an attorney who spends a lot of time dealing with clients at "close range," and he likes Extreme because it isn't overwhelming. As for staying power, I sprayed some on my arm to test it, and I had to wash twice to get the scent completely off. I wish my own cologne stayed like that!

Coco by Chanel

My step mother wears this, and it smells SO good on her. She is the "always-do-the-perfectly-correct-social-thing" type of person, and I think this fragrance suits her perfectly.

Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche

Sorry to be one of the few naysayers; but I had a boyfriend that used to just bathe in this stuff, and I absolutely detest it! Just the thought of it gives me sinuitis.

Giorgio by Giorgio Beverly Hills

Giorgio is a great fragrance IF, when applying it, you hold the bottle at arms length, and get the lightest mist possible. Otherwise, you may as well put on a tight black leather skirt, a striped tank top, and a pink feather boa, and go stand out on some corner, 'cause that's what too much Giorgio makes you smell like.

Polo by Ralph Lauren

Nothing screams "Eighties!" like this fragrance. I still like it on some men, especially those who don't spritz on half a bottle at a time. It makes me think of Polo shirts with turned up collars, and red Ferraris. It's a classic that will always be around (I hope).

White Linen by Estée Lauder

A lovely, girly, summery fragrance. Good for the office.

Halston Z-14 by Halston

An oldie but goody. My dad used to wear this, and my husband has a bottle of it as well. Good for the office or for a night out. I notice a lot of modern scents (don't ask for names of stuff I avoid.. sorry!) try to imitate it, but they never quite get it.

Chaz by Revlon

When I was in college, it seemed that every guy I knew was either wearing this, or Pierre Cardin. What was Revlon thinking when they discontinued it? Another great fragrance lost.

Givenchy Gentleman by Givenchy

This is another one of those manly-man fragrances that always makes me look to see who is wearing it. A real attention getter (in a positive way), not meant for the timid or shy.

Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur by Pierre Cardin

I love this stuff! However, I agree that it is easy to over apply, and it's annoying to be around men who reek of the stuff. Disregard the low price tag, and go easy on the application. You'll be fine.

Hai Karate by Leeming

This is one cologne that I am thrilled to see discontinued. Bleah!

Aramis by Aramis

In my (female) opinion, this is one of the greatest men's fragrances ever made. The ad for Aramis used to say "Peppery ~ Potent" and I think that says it all. It's very sexy, and my husband wears it when he wants to get my attention (like after a quarrel :) ).

Youth Dew by Estée Lauder

I love this fragrance, but you gotta have a "park-my-Roller-and-bring-my-parcels-up-to-the-penthouse" attitude to wear it. It's very luscious, almost makes me hungry when I smell it on someone.

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci

Another classic, very romantic. Still one of my favorites!

Muguet de Bois by Coty

When I was pre-teen, this was the only fragrance I was "allowed" to wear. I saw some in the drug store recently, and it still smelled very fresh and feminine (and pre-teen) to me.

Bellodgia by Caron

So very romantic with all of the carnation and spice notes, yet very sphisticated. Not really good for office wear, especially if you work in close quarters with your co-workers. I loved their magazine ad, with the couple embracing on the street, and the girl's little dog in tow.

Shalimar by Guerlain

My dad used to have a girlfriend that wore nothing but Shalimar. I always thought it the most feminine scent, but very understated. A true "ladies" fragrance.

No. 5 by Chanel

One of my favorites! Use sparingly, as those aldehydes will announce your location from miles away if you over-indulge. I never buy fragrance for the bottle design, but this one still has one of the coolest designs I've ever seen. To call this fragrance a classic is the understatement of the millenia.

Y by Yves Saint Laurent

This is my favorite cologne of all time! I can only find it on the Internet here in the U.S., but it is worth hunting for. This is the only cologne I've ever worn that has made men literally follow me down the street and stop me to ask me what I'm wearing. YSL Beaute, if you're reading this, I beg you, NEVER STOP MAKING THIS COLOGNE!!!!! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!

Calandre by Paco Rabanne

When I was in my 20's this was my favorite fragrance. I still have some... it's very warm, almost Oriental, with a soft powdery dry down that lasts a long time. I've noticed on some women that it has a almost metallic finish to it that can be unpleasant; not for everyone's chemistry, I suppose. Good office fragrance.

Joop! Homme by Joop!

This stuff smells like grape Jello. Ugh!

Miss Dior by Christian Dior

One of my favorites. I wear this when I have a business luncheon or something social to go to during the day. It lasts a long time.
