Antico Caruso by Profumum

This is soo complex but smooth ! Take EVERY single FANTASTIC aspect of every man's cologne ever made and squeeze it into this work of PURE ART ! It smells
exactly like what the perfect man's cologne should smell like ! It captures places and emotions for me when I wear it - not just the feeling that it's a great scent and that's it, Profumum delivers what they claim : to invoke feelings, memories etc... this is an experience FIRST ! and a scent second. Not enough thumbs in a stadium full of people to point up for this offering! It is beyond comforting, smooth , and fantastic ! Long lasting too- 6 to 10
hours and goes on a bit like a medicine
cabinet but then starts to unfold masculine smooth perfection within an
hour.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 1 Leaves: Tea by Comme des Garçons

This is so gothique' ~ Reminds me of a huge Chinese Black tea warehouse that has just burned to the ground , and upon your arrival to this there are little gothic geisha women- clad in vinyl kimonos dropping rose petals freshly picked upon the whole smoldering mess. There an odd PVC/vinyl fetishistic kind of backdrop.
Little gothic hipsters and Older semi-retired Batcave era goth folks
would make it a signature scent for sure. Not for the faint of heart-
it's strong , intense , and avant-garde
stuff you expect from CdG, so of course
I LOVE IT !!!

Bois d'Iris by Different Company

A true incarnation of aged Iris root and other tender and masculine balance notes to form a FANTASTIC MASTERPIECE !!!
I get compliments from men and women on this and somehow has both a very clean but also very root/wood like character.
Sure kiddies, ' it sounds easy to get a really great wood and somewhat clean floral note together - but most of them just don't get there - this is perfection of brooding more root/earthy based undertones but never quite forgets the Iris and more bright accents that really make this beyond imagination to wear. I truly TREASURE this work of liquid love and art !!! 2 thumbs up !!!

Frapin 1270 by Frapin

This is Wheee !!! such a great foody figgy bit of folly with VSOP cognac undertones,Dare I say foody but not in a bad way -
much more sophisticated than a Comme des garcons "foody" scent like that sweet
series. Vanilla, figs soaked in brandy ,
nutty , orange bits , delicate and sensual honey , perhaps a whiff of grapes from a French vineyard - FABULOUS-NESS !!!!!
A comfort and true feeling of luxury is
about me when I wear this ! Extremely
rich and heart felt work of liquid art.
Exotic, unique , addictive. It slaps
a hum-drum typical Dept. store scent
line up in the face without mercy !

Blu Mediterraneo Sicilian Almond / Mandorlo di Sicilia by Acqua di Parma

This is one of the scents that got me really passionate about the whole idea of expanding my olfactory wardrobe ! no joke. I agree with the other post - it has a real medicinal effect to calm. Vanilla ,bergmont , etherial lavender similar to the A.d.P. colonia, but I get this really heady confectionary rush during and after the open - like the most expensive oppulent candy in the world along with the other notes as well. Extemely sweet without being cheap
or unbalanced. It does go a bit more spicy later but never a loss of the
sweet vanilla-esque, tender quality of perfection in this masterpiece. YUM+ !!!

parfums*PARFUMS Guerrilla 2 by Comme des Garçons

Got a sample of this and although I love
CdG as a rule - this was just *there*
it had a little whimper of pepper and pimento ? at the open and then just turns into this non-descript , freshness or generic clean smell ? mind you - I'm a huge fan of incense and labdanum/cistus based offerings, Not really anything here that gets me reaching for my wallet.
Sad really - had high hopes for this.
Almost reminds me of that typical CdG
vinyl smell/undernote mixed with Polo
"Sport" not bad , just not really great
either.

Himalaya by Creed

Luv IT !!! pink pepper , possibly everlasting/helicrysum , sandalwood,
and other goodies all too complex to sift out in the sniff - but really sets well
and has fairly good lasting power.

Route du Vétiver by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier

bleh ,,, Pih.. I really tried to like this
but on me , NOT a good combo. smelled like
an old wardrobe or closet the butler NEVER cleaned and possibly lost control of his bladder in as well.

Jasmine by Keiko Mecheri

This smells exactly like some private estate
Jasmine tea ( the top of all grades sold ) I drink
in the morning. Incredible , but not too long
on my skin. I'd like it much better if it would
stick around longer. 6 for duration, 9.5 out
of 10 for overall talent in the effort to capture
the true essence of Jasmine as it really is.
A bit more Lunar/female oriented , but a man
at ease with himself could prob. wear this as
meditation on possible purchase grows for me.

Oliban by Keiko Mecheri

Extremely complex but well done. Oliban/Olibanum
points to frankencense by the name , but it has a
spice-rose quality as a more up front part of the whole. Slightly girly for a man - but never the less ,I have gotten compliments from female noses in any given room. Nice "green" aspect too- semi-long lasting with antique Maro-Polo floral/incense market whiff upon initial application. I have been known to break rules
as to gender polarization of scents chosen for myself - the Keiko Jasmine may be my next purchase. The Oliban is a possible stock up item
for me. 7.75 out of 10.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 3 Incense: Zagorsk by Comme des Garçons

Beyond belief - 2 thumbs UP ! Most Unique on
my whole opinion of scents in general.
I could smell this kind of incense smoke trapped in rich church marble pillars, There is a granite/stone like aroma I've NEVER experienced in any scent, but in a fantastic way - the stone and smoke blend into a ritualistic , ehterial element with woody smoked pine bits along the whole jouney into this mystical elixr - I love ALL the CdG Incense series, but Zagorsk/Kyoto/and Avignon are the BEST.
Very much like the other reviews - I'd have to say
you really catch something more complex than a direct note lineup, rather - it is an ambient atmosphere of a place captured ! that place would be an extremely remote Russian church with
this aroma of heavy wood planks and marble pillars- all with centuries of incense and nature melting into it- Incredible offering !, no pun intended.
I could prattle on for longer but you all get the idea -I'm sure.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 3 Incense: Kyoto by Comme des Garçons

Wow ~ !!! 2 Thumbs UP !!!
It reminds me of a Shinto priest in the
middle of a temple writing sacred prayer scrolls in the most ornate Kanji while incence smoke is drifting in swirled whisps around the whole affair.
It is truly a Zen like and incredible mixture.
Olfactory hints of aloes and other rare woods,
sweet - haunting vanilla cloaked with dark, rich
brooding , sacred incense. The lowest and most
rich note a Koto can play.A most Tender balance of
sweetness, wood and smoke trapped in a silk
kimono. There's nothing here I don't like.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 3 Incense: Avignon by Comme des Garçons

This scent really IS an entire high Mass ritual in medieval Latin ! It's VERY close if not a perfect representation of Frankencense burned during a Catholic /Orthodox celibration. It does have a pine like aspect but so much more ! Truly obscure, exotic and long lasting , My new favorite to be sure- and just spicy enough to be for a man, but a woman who "thinks outside the box" could prob. wear it as well. Extremely unique! LOVE It. !!!

Opium pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Oh - I remember this one, must get a bottle soon.
it was vanilla with all hints of sweet Japanese Temple incense and flowers , but spicy enough for
the intended male market. Stable through the whole
6/8/10 hour life but moody , sultry , opulent -
perhaps a hint of aloes wood. Great night scent.
