Eau de Monsieur by Annick Goutal

I myself prefer bitter scents, though I dont think that bitter is the over all note to this. I get a strong smell of Tonka Bean which I generally like. In small amounts this perfume does not shine but when worn a little on the strong side then it can be fully appreciated. Extra points for it remaining a very natural smell.

Dahn Al Oudh Moattaq by Ajmal

This description is not that of its name rather this is the description of Mukhallat dehn al oud al muattaq. This difference being that the dehn al oud is strictly agarwood, the mukhallat meaning "mixture" describes an attar of agarwood that is mixed with other ingrediants. The full name meaning , Mukhallat-Mixture, Dehn al oud-oil of agarwood, Muattaq-aged. This attar is Beautiful. The classic mixture of rose and agarwood is hard to put into words. The floral-citris of the Turkish rose and woody-anamalic of the aged high quality agarwood is a perfect blend of sweet and sour. Highly aromatic of herbs and rose yet deep and sensual musks and woods. A perfect blend of opposites. This attar is long lasting to the skin yet not annoying when used in rather large amounts "2 or 3 swipes of the dipstick". This attar by far is an arabian style attar that is far from being the same old smell as many of the mass marketed Arabian bakhoors (incense) and attars. The packaging is a little strange, it comes in a coffin looking box, and the 18ml. crystal bottle is noble and suites the perfume well and is very heavy. If you want to smell Arabian luxury and class in a somewhat affordable attar this is it. I highly recommend this attar.

Kamary by Madini

Feminine rose, with a green woody dry down. It stops there.

Incense by Madini

This is a weird one. I dont get the incense except it may have a slight similarity to nag champa. Think of nag champa with some white musk and plastic thrown in to add some weirdness.

Azahar by Madini

I love this frag. Neroli and herbs I agree. Manly. Just my kind of smell.

Ambargris by Madini

Ok dark molasses with musk and ceder and of course amber. Very tenacious, dark, deep, somewhat roasty, pretty complexed for an amber. I personally would say more amber then ambergris, but non the less a rich sensual frag, that most people adore.

Sultan by Swiss Arabian Perfumery

I have bought this twice. I really like this one, especially as EDP. Classic Arabic style, good in winter and summer, though ity is a warm scent. I wear this on my shirt and then put on a top note like rose to liven it up. I dont care for the package it comes in as it reminds me of a coffin.

Ambre by Madini

One gets the sense when smelling this attar that some fossilized sap was literally melted and put into a bottle. A little hard to wear on it's own, but wonderful when used in layering. I put a little on my neck and then spray on some L'instant, goes perfect. Very Unique.

Almaktoub by Madini

Madini's Version of Drakkar Noir, and a pretty good one at that. I have smelled many other versions of Drakkar in attar form and thison ein my opinion is the best. Fresh, Masculine, Herbal and I love the Juniper. The big suprize about this attar is that it rids itself of the 80"s era perfume feel, and stands alone as just a really good smelling attar. Its only downfall I would say is that through the years it's been getting weeker in strength.

Zahfran by Madini

Zahfran is a pleasent smell. Smells just like a small box of saffron. Pungent, floral, and slightly sweet. This is a monotoned fragrance but one must remember that this is an attar, not a perfume coming from some fancy french perfume house. This fragrance is built on tradition, and being authentic to tradition.

Agarwood by Madini

One word to describe this "Agarwood" Fake! To anyone who has had the privillage to smell authentic real Agarwood regardless of its quality or origin, this attar has fake written all over it. I have smelled other "agarwoods" or "ouds" that are fake and they sell for 1/3 of the price of this Madini scent. The true Agarwood is complex, rich, animalic, subtle, and oh so luring, while this scent is more like if a tree was made out of plastic this is probably what it would smell like. Evan a cheap bad quality agarwood dosnt smell anything like this, usually they smell burnt or like cow manuare but not nausiating and un-natural like this one. I would not be so dissapointed in this attar if I hadnt smelled the same thing from a same size bottle sold on the counter of a family owned butcher shop and sold for $4.00 right next to the $0.99 sesame candy.
