Courtesan by Worth
Very very sweet, a bit musky and ambery in the drydown. I see it worn as a winter scent but not in the dog days of summer. Was hard for me to identify specific fruit -- just sticky syrupy concoction. Expected more of it.

Moods by Krizia
Politely disagree with the previous review. It is a gorgeous woody floral scent with an olde worlde chypre feel. The beginning of sharp green transparent bergamot sets one mood, the luscious heart of clover, acacia (did someone say "acacia honey"?) and sweet linden blossom bring you in the entirely new state of soul and the final accord of softest moss, woods (pine, cedar) and a touch of castoreum makes a great statement.
Wonderful, get it when you can, it can easily pass for "niche".

Love's Baby Soft by Love's
As inexpensive and pretty as it is, I see why it used to be so popular among the teenaged girls in the USA: sweet cotton candy with a touch of strawberries and weighless musk. It does not last long at all, but what a sweet half hour it is when one is going to sleep in a sheer veil of Love's Baby Soft!

Insolence by Guerlain
This is Guerlain???
Normally I do not mind violets, and I am even more intrigued by "lush" descriptions, but for Goodness sake, Insolence is rough, harsh and, ultimately, cheap. Overly sweet, unnatural, full of pretentiousness and totally lacking the "it" factor.
What does color pink have to do with it?
Big, no, huuuuuuuuge disappointment.

Perhaps by Bob Mackie
As much as I like the original Bob Mackie and his Masquerade, Perhaps did not do it to me. Honestly, there is no "it" factor in it. Judging by the name, reviews and the notes, I was expecting the intrigue and sweet development, but somehow it was linear and did not deliver!
It was released in 1997 and Jan Moran classifies it as Floral Oriental with the notes of
Top: Mimosa, peach, orange;
Heart: jasmine, freesia, rose;
Base: sandalwood, amber.
There is something disharmonious going on in it, like the "nose" was trying too hard: boozy champagne? too much amber for a light floral scent? It is dry and only partly sweet with monster white flowers upon opening akin to those in Tatiana by Diane von Forstenburg. I can not detect much of mimosa or peach. Cheap ingredients? Not the "right" musk? The magic did not happen, sorry, and, perhaps, Perhaps was not created with my chemistry in mind.

Masquerade by Bob Mackie
Came out in 2000 from Bob Mackie, the famous Jamaican couturier, the "Sultan of Sequins". Jan Moran classifies it as Floral Oriental and shows the notes as
Top: Freesia, mandarin, lily of the valley;
Heart: violet, passion flower, jasmine, osmanthus;
Base: sandalwood, musk, woods.
From the little booklet inside my beautiful black box with a butterfly housing a bottle of Masquerade: " Inspired by the unique and feminine Bob Mackie style, Masquerade weaves brilliant colors and lush textures, wrapping you in a blanket of velvet floralcy. Golden Mimosa, Passion Flower and exotic Jasmine are combined with a sensual Cashmere accord of warm woods and sheer musks to complete the luscious experience."
In mood it is a perfect scent for Johan Straus operetta "Die Fledermouse" ("The Bat") where the main hero flirts and falls in love with his own wife at a costume party, as it has the same vitality, sweetness and melodic grace infusing the music and the plot. Aromas of a dark garden on a warm southern night, silk of the dresses, smell of hot skins, whispers, hints, smiles. Misunderstandings, confusion.... Love it, want more people to try it.
Long lasting and compliment gathering.

Vanille Abricot by Comptoir Sud Pacifique
Not a bad scent at all. BUT: Not enough yellow-orange goodness or golden fuzz. Mz.Vanilla, domineering, sophisticated and with a couple of divorces under her belt (khm khm), is on a date with much younger Mr.Apricot, a kid with spiked hair and an occasional pimple, who are they trying to kid? No future for this couple, they are so different! No wonder the scent itself lasts like 40 minutes max, and almost everything lasts on my skin.

We're by Shiseido
We're happy together. This and other positive affirmations on the lid create the likeability factor right away. Not widely popular and (I suspect) released by Shiseido for the internal market. Tropical without being too cloying (coconut?), fruity without being too naive (raspberry), woody (sandalwood) without being too butch and spicy (tonka bean) without being too headache inducing. Similar in mood with Nina Ricci Deci-Dela, but more on the grown-up side. One of the best raspberry scents I have been looking for and finally tried.
