Isfarkand pour Homme by Ormonde Jayne
To my nose and on my skin, it is all-all wooden. Sawdust and freshly cut timber. No matter even that it seems to stay unchanged all the way from top to base, this one is a really sweet and delicious scent. A little bit too loud and heavy, too, and extremely long-lasting.

Dune by Christian Dior
Maybe it's chemistry - I don't know. I feel Dune very very harsh. A mere drop on my skin clamors on and on, impudent and LOUD. I can try it on for some minutes only and then wash it off but the headache it never fails to cause will last all day long.

4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser by 4711
Not bad, even if a bit too sharp and penetrating at top. On the other hand it's only too weak - regardless of weather, it is usually gone within a mere 30 minutes, leaving you no chance to smell any base or drydown.

Beyond Paradise by Estée Lauder
Back in 1995, I thought Pleasures was the limit. But this one beats everythig! Horrible. Vulgar. Perfectly suitable for a fat suburb gal all dolled up in pink and white glitters ready for a local disco party.

Aqua Allegoria Herba-Fresca by Guerlain
No freshly cut grass. No mint and no zest at all - after the first 30 minutes of shiny freshness, it is only sweet hay and lemon juice and warm golden honey. Lovely. Quite unlike the latest Guerlains and the rest of Acquas I happened to own or to test this one is a real masterpiece. And nearly the only scent I can wear in hot weather.

Tsar by Van Cleef & Arpels
A Tsar, you say ? Well, may be. But definitely no Rurik. Just a Bunsha.
(Russian-speaking members will take it I am sure.)

Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune by Guerlain
Delicious for the first 5 to ten seconds - after which it turns a plastic and sugary (or shall I say saccharine ?) mawky nightmare. Definitely NO grapefruit. Sticks STRONGLY to your skin.

Blu pour Homme by Bulgari
Whenever I wear Blu pour homme I feel confident and businesslike. For me, it smells success - especially its delicious drydown of sandalwood and cedar. A lovely scent - even if a bit unsophisticated. It feels to me like a simplified relative of Creed's Himalaya.
Blu is a triffle too harsh for me at the beginning. So I never actually dare to spray it on my skin - I take one drop on my finger by softly pressing the top of the spray, and dot my skin.

No. 5 by Chanel
To my nose, Chanel No. 5 smells definitely dated and yet I think it is delicious and very very classy. I only have an edt splash which I received as a present nearly 10 years ago. And it is only now that I begin to enjoy this scent to the full. On my skin, it never turns sweet or powdery, quite on the contrary - it only dries down from floral to floralbitter to dry & woody bitter.
I often wear it in daytime, as it is my firm conviction that you can wear any perfume any time of day - if you are careful enough NOT to overdose it.
