Boss in Motion Edition Black by Hugo Boss

Citrussy, fresh, aquatic. Ingredients: limonene, citral, citronellol, among others. Says enough. Doesn't have much staying power on my skin. Overall, I'm unimpressed.

L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme by Guerlain

Classy, special and "light". A fresh patchouli fragrance with hibiscus, topped by a well balanced citrus and badian note. Not overbearing. Real Guerlain quality. I like the Vetiver of Guerlain and this is just another refined fragrance! Not common at all. Different, but in a subtle way.

Eau de Cartier Concentrée by Cartier

Bittersweet, fresh, green woody smell. Distinctive and classy. Unusual, without shouting it in your face. Exudes a calm mature energy. Extraordinary.

B*Men by Thierry Mugler

This is A*men Lite. Or, to put it differently: A*men could be - in another universe - B*men Extrême. This spicy woody scent has less lasting power and sillage then A*men. Not bad though, but the man who already has a bottle of A*men in his wardrode, could do without this one. I personally like the vetiver note, so it's no "thumbs down" for me. B*men has a niche of its own, especially if you don't like gourmand scents. When you want to smell like a candy shop, buy A*men.

Fahrenheit by Christian Dior

Fahrenheit smells like fresh polished black leather shoes at first. Or more accurate: like the wax you spray on shoes to protect it against a rainy day. Not bad, but who wants to smell like Kiwi shoe wax? It develops into something woody; warm and a bit smoky, like a walk in a dry pine wood during the heat of day. Could this be the resin of the styrax and the mastic tree? Very unusual, sharp, mediterranean, slightly leathery and floral.
BTW: the "Hawthorne" in the top note is used in medicine to lower blood pressure and heart rate. Strange that this fragrance seems to have the opposite effect for so many reviewers here at Basenotes...

Azzaro pour Homme by Azzaro

A classic fougere, without any of the sweet notes that are popular today. Absolutely no "creamy vanilla"! This fragrance won't rock any boat. It's like sailing on a perfectly quiet morning, with a fresh breeze in your hair, on a lake surrounded by pine woods. No mover. Just decent. Good for Italian macho men; it won't offend La Mama.
