Cool Water Sun, Sea and Surf by Davidoff

This one is quite a bit better than the regular Cool Water. It's better balanced and less grapey. It almost suggests a bit of salt. This is refreshing, but it's nothing I would wear. I tend to prefer woods and tobaccos. This is about as far from either of those things a one can get. I wound up giving it to my dad along with the regular Cool Water

Cool Water by Davidoff

This was my first cologne. I really liked this in the store. Compared to all the fruity and flowery stuff I'd been smelling, this struck me as being piney and masculine. Once I got it home and started wearing it, I was a little dissapointed. I liked the smell as it went on, but it immediately morphed into a grapey smell and quickly faded into a flat papery smell. I did receive a couple compliments on this one, so at least other people enjoyed it. My dad was always commenting on it, so I wound up giving it to him. The 2005 Sun, sea, and surf version is better balanced and not quite as grapey.

Silver Black / Onyx by Azzaro

This smelled great to me in the store, but after wearing it for a while, It smells like a combination of Speed Stick Classic scent (my favorite deodorant for many years) and breathmints. It's similar to Drakkar Noir but without the piney quality. To me this just smells cheap and watery. My roommate’s first reaction was that it smelled like a lockeroom with built in jock B.O. (He says the same about Drakkar Noir). I don't think I'd go that far, but I dislike it enough to have stopped wearing it altogether.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

When I first started wearing this, I thought it smelled like a sophisticated version of Davidoff's Cool Water. I like this much better than cool water, but it's still not something I'd buy. (The bottle I have was a gift). The more I wear it the more it reminds me of the smell of boiling celery.

Nonetheless it's a good scent for flying a kite at the park or a game of croquet, a picnic and other leisurely outdoor activities. I picked it to wear on one of my visits to a very traditional Chinese teashop in Berkeley. It seemed right. The celery quality seemed to compliment the aromas and flavors of the teas I tried that day.

GIT smells natural and it's not overpowering. The name fits. It definitely smells green and I think it goes well with my tweed hat and jacket.
