Angélique Encens by Creed

one of my all time favorites. As much as I like other scents, this is one I will never be able to live without. Truly hypnotic and unlike anything else. Mysterious, musty (in a good, 'antique' way) darkly floral, and with smoky incense weaving in and out of the composition. As Connoisseur said, it does go through 3 phases, which I was able to discern after repeated wearings and got to 'know' it. The first part - amazing. The second part I like a bit less, but that doesn't last too long - then it transforms yet again into something truly amazing, soft but powerful. Lasts a long time on my skin, thankfully.

Bois du Portugal by Creed

One of my top three favorite Creeds, this is rich, woody, and spicy with a subtly sweet base. Has a very elegant and masculine aura. This scent posesses incredible staying power, and dries down to a wonderfully rich and warm woodsy-musky-sweet scent. One of those rare scents that has so much depth, heart and originality, and just seems to generate a very calmng yet powerful aura around you when you wear it . Try layering with Dzing! or Helmut Lang Parfum for great variations.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

I don't see what all the fuss is about. As far as Creed scents go, this to me is one is among those of least quality and feels fairly common. It certainly is nicely made and blended, but when I put it on it just has this pungent quality to it that made me feel a little ill and I had to wash it off after a couple of hours. I wouldn't go so far as to call it 'rotting garbage' as another reviewer did, but I can certainly understand where that sentiment came from as there is a combination of sharp and sour notes in this that is just unpleasant to me and that I would certainly describe as a sour stench. I actually enjoy smelling it out of the bottle now and then but isn't something I can stand smelling like and I can't imagine I would like smelling it on anyone else either. Be a little more adventurous and try some of the lesser known Creeds (Bois du Portugal, Erolfa, Scottish Lavendar), they kill this one in terms of quality and elegance.

Millésime Impérial by Creed

Rich, bright, regal scent that is elegant and very uplifting. Has a richness and complexity that is mesmerizing while still maintaining a fresh and clean quality. There is a hint of something that is akin to watermelon that is amazing - the masterful harmonization of that note with the others is what gives this scent so much character. In my opinion this and Silver Mountain Water are close relatives - they both seem to share the same basic formula with just enough difference to make each distinct from the other, SMW being lighter, this one being a bit richer. If you are going to invest a good amount of money on one get this one because it lasts significantly longer than SMW. One of my all-time favorites.

L'Eau de L'Artisan by L'Artisan Parfumeur

a wonderful, inspiring, uplifting scent that is great for anytime, but especially spring and summer. Very clean and fresh with a wonderful note of fresh-cut grass. Has a very crisp out-of-the-shower feel to it that is inviting and casual for a day out and about, just something I enjoy smelling all the time. Neither perfume-y or cologne-y, this just captures the essence of a beautiful, sunny spring day. Sounds sappy but true! One of my all-time favorites.

Odeur 53 by Comme des Garçons

A really cool and unusual scent. Although composed entirely of synthetic notes, this one comes off very smooth and fresh-smelling in a very abstract, unplaceable way. It reminds me mostly of static electricity or other certain unknown environmental-chemical smells that while inorganic, are still very stimulating and nice. It doesn't smell to me like any one thing in particular, but alludes to many scents in my memory. Is great to combine with other scents, as it is very smooth and mellow. Worn by itself, it is just a nice, smooth, clean-smelling scent that is very unusual, but fresh and pleasant, not at all obtrusive or overpowering.

Comme des Garçons Parfum by Comme des Garçons

this Comme des Garcons scent is not as nearly interesting as their clothes - it's a fairly common-smelling scent and reminds me of spiced soap or potpourri. It is pleasant, though, just nothing to get excited about. Try 2, 53, or 71 instead, those are very interesting and live up to the Comme des Garcons avant-garde aesthetic.

Marc Jacobs for Men by Marc Jacobs

definitely an acquired taste for me - when I first got it, I was intrigued, then quickly grew to loathe it. I put it away and planned to sell it, but a few months later opened it and tried it again, and was again intrigued and kept wearing it, and grew to love it. It is an extremely unusual scent and has a very 'outdoors-y" feeling to it. Smoothly pungent, and definitely has a kick, but again, a smooth kick, nothing at all sharp in this one. Has a floral - greeny-grassy smell, and is very subtly masculine. My only complaint is that it doesn't last very long. An unexpected treat for those looking for something different.

Tiffany for Men by Tiffany

An extremely rich, luxurious, long-lasting scent, very strong and if too much is used, overpowering. Cirrusy and somewhat sweet, but unmistakebly masculine due to musky notes. One of the richest and deepest scents I've smelled, and while a bit too rich for everyday use, it is really something. Very recommended.

Helmut Lang Men by Helmut Lang

One of may all-time favorites. Similar to the Helmut Lang eau de parfum, which I do not see reviewed here, but this is lighter and spicier. Both are basically unisex scents, and this has a sweetness to it that may be why it has gotten negative rewiews here. To me it is just a beautiful, light, sweet-musk, clean-smelling scent, very smooth and slightly spicy. After a few hours, the sweetness is gone, and what is left is a musky-spicy scent that just seems to go so well with the body's natural odor, instead of covering it up.

Cuiron Pour Homme by Helmut Lang

when I first bought this, I felt it was rather sharp and had an unpleasant sourness to it, so I put it away and planned to sell it. A few months later, I got it out on a whim and put some on and was intrigued, and after repeated applications came to really enjoy it. So it was certainly an acquired taste - t it is a very rich and complex scent, very masculine, at once sharp and smooth. It complements the other Helmut Lang scents very well, which are both much smoother. As with the other Lang scents, it has a very 'natural' sense to it, in that it really works well with the body's natural odor, rather than covering it up.
