Sécrétions Magnifiques by Etat Libre d'Orange

This is the most amazing fragrance I have ever smelt. It smells like nothing else, it even doesn't really smell like a fragrance. It's a weired mix of metallic, watery, ozonic, animalic, musky notes. The effect when smelling it the first time is almost physical : immediate repulsion, and then, smell again to try to understand what is the incredible thing. Aldehydes, for sure, give this intense metallic effect, as if you had blood in the mouth. There is also a salty, marine, iodine note that remains on the skin very long. After a few hours, it becomes less repulsive, and starts smelling just like somebody's else skin... or your own skin ! It's not a fragrance, it's just an experience.

Darling by Kylie Minogue

An "easy to wear" chypre. Top notes are fresh, juicy, grapefruit, lychee and peach. It is very cosmetic rose, violette, creamy. And then, it becomes suddenly very close to Gucci Rush !The Chypre fruity accord is nearly the same, but lighter, less sweet and heavy. It smells like a 90's fragrance, almost a new classic... I wouldn't wear it, but recognize that it's well balanced and absolutly in line with the australian lady's image.

With Love... Hilary Duff by Hilary Duff

One of the worst thing I have ever smelt this year. Overwhelming mix of hot milk, cinnamom, vanilla, coconut, pinapple, and mango. Smells like a car air freshner. Or a pinacolada.

The One by Dolce & Gabbana

Top notes are very fruity, peach, mango, apricot, and sticky. The heart is more floral, with a monoi, tiaré flower aspect. I agree that it smells more like a teenage fragrance, whereas the bottle and the packaging are very sophisticated, classical, and you would expect something more original, with more signature, in order to be really "the one", and not one more among the others...

Belle en Rykiel by Sonia Rykiel

Belle en Rykiel is an interesting fragrance as there is a big amount of lavender on top, which is a bit unusual for a woman scent. When the aromatic and citrus top notes are gone, there is a warm floral powdery, woody chypre accord, with patchouli, amber and vanilla in drydown. It's "chic", sensual and distinctive.

Tam Dao by Diptyque

A wonderful scent for woods lovers. It reminds me of a fire wood in winter, it's warm, smoky, spicy, and it's delicious either on a woman or a man.
It's sophisticated, complex, yet simple, constant and not too overwhelming. Nearly perfection.

L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

First thought when I smelt it : top notes are exactly the same as in Dolce&Gabbana pour homme ! (both have been created by IFF) Then, the dry down is slightly different, less powdery, tabacco than D&G, more woody, musky, dryer, not so bad, but not original. It's true that overall, it's much below all the other men fragrances from YSL. Easy to wear, can fit everybody, but not distinctive. Desappointing.
