This perfume disturbs me deeply, i have to agree with purplebird7. A girl I know that I disliked for a long time wore this. She was the 'village bicycle' you might say. Unfortunately my limbic system associates this scent with very strong memories of her and evokes negative emotions; I just cant stand it. For me it screams 'baby prostitute' (Quote Janice in the film 'Mean Girls')

This is my favourite perfume and I only pull it out for certain occasions. Usually a party or out for dinner in winter. I would say its a winter evening scent; too cloying for humid New Zealand summer nights or days!!
I agree that it has to be on the right person; my friend liked it so much on me that she gave it a squirt- the smell on her resembled musky car freshener left in the pocket of an old fur coat!

I own island kiss and i sampled pacific paradise and could hardly tell the difference, seems like we are being duped.

This scent is class and panacea in a bottle. My mother and her mother both wear this fragrance and i love that they love it. Pefumery is the artistic side of chemistry, it is all about proportions and imagination and this perfume water is the perfect exemplar. A precise measure of citrus, rose, woods and musk; it is a masterpiece of art and chemistry.

i agree with the whole make-up counter idea, it can be quite glamorous and smelt different on my boss who is in her early thirties- wasn't too girly. although the fragrance is quite soft and "pink", the rose is definitely noticeable which makes it a bit more mature. it had a good staying power on my skin and the base note of vanilla was easily detected later on which helped to keep the narcissus or floral part alive, i think. a good blend.

my mum bought this on sale. it smells quite formal-i'd imagine a lady in her 40s wearing this to work with plain jewellery, a black skirt-suit and a white blouse. its stylish but quite uniform; reminds me ever so slightly of elizabeth arden's green tea.

i own this and was given it as a prize from a beauty pageant. every time i wear it i remember how much i dislike it. on my skin it smells like a nauseating car freshner. and the smell doesn't change after two hours either- there must be something in it that just doesn't complement my natural smell. Staying power is phenomenal.

i have this and got it in a sale- a moment of insanity! its a bit too sweet for my liking. its a summer fragrance and i find it too pungent in the heat so its not the greatest.

I sneaked a spray of this off my aunty one evening while babysitting and loved it, it made me feel as though i was excited about something like the feeling you get when you go on an aeroplane for the first time. It was really interesting.

i too was very surprised when i got my sample home- preparing for the worst. Until i sprayed it on and smelt the jasmine which works so beautifuly with my own skin oils. i chose Dior's hypnotic poison for the jasmine and was quite surprised to find it in "curious"- what i imagined to smell like candy floss and cheap incense. Doesn't last on my skin for very long though.

baby doll was extremely fashionable when i was in high school, so i avoided it for quite sometime. until a year ago i tried it on my skin and it smelled totally different to the cheap gum- chewing girls i remember. it smelt rich and peppery, not as fruity and cordial- like on my skin. I am converted and now approve.

white musk was the first fragrance i ever purchased, i bought it in the oil form. It is a comforting fragrance for me as my grandmother wore it when i was little- i think this scent passses the test of time because it doesnt smell dated although it has been around for a long time and comes from the 80's- a very easily unfashionable era.

i really like this fragrance, it smells like gin and tonic when you first spray it on; perfect for really hot days in summer when all your other perfumes can get a bit nauseating. Its good that it isnt too strong either, i find it pretty hard to overdose on this one.

Tommy girl is very unpredictable on my skin, sometimes it smells like cheap toilet freshener and somedays it blends so nicely with my skin.Today i put it on and definitely smelt the violet among other niceties. The smell when it works on me outweighs all bad experiences.
