Basi Homme by Armand Basi

One of my favorites for men; my boyfriend smells wonderful when he wears this. Well balanced, refined, and sexy! As a woman, I'm tired of smelling all of the "fresh, aquatic" fragrances that have flooded the market for the past decade. They're pleasant enough, but have no sex appeal. Basi Homme gives that in abundance. I'm looking forward to smelling the original, and the women's version, too. Well done!

Safari by Ralph Lauren

Wow, I am totally in the minority here! This is not appealing to me in the least. Extremely dry chypre with too much vetiver and aldehydes for my taste. But, since so many people seem to love it, I can't help but think I'm missing something here...hmmm. Oh well.

Jil Sander No. 4 by Jil Sander

This is difficult for me to rate, because it's not my "type" of fragrance - it's too heavy on the floral notes for my taste. If you like that sort of fragrance, this would be a winner, but I'll pass on this one...though I will try it again sometime simply because I think it's destined to become a classic.

M7 by Yves Saint Laurent

A woman's perspective here...well...I think I need to give this one some time to make a final decision. It's certainly not one I loved immediately, but it does get extra points in my book for being unique. It is super masculine; many of today's scents can "swing both ways", if you will, but not this one. It does have that medicinal, menthol-type opening, but the drydown is less in your face and quite intriguing. Ultimately I think you need the right "look" and personality to pull this off. It brings to mind a dark, brooding, confident man with a commanding presence and an overt sexuality. Very tough to pull this one off if you're more sedate and conservative - could seem like you're trying too hard. Worn by the right man, this could be fantastic, otherwise...disastrous.

Kenneth Cole New York Women by Kenneth Cole

I was so happy to find this. It's feminine without being girly or in-your-face overtly sexual; it's somewhere in the middle. This is a refined, elegant, versatile fragrance for women that is truly unique. It's bucking the current trends - it's no sugary/fruity, loud floral, or marine/ozone clone. I think that many people will not know quite what to make of this one because we're so used to all of the copycat frags out there. This is smooth, quiet, and alluring. It will become a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.

Armani Mania by Giorgio Armani

Now THIS is the juice! I absolutely love this one, and definitely prefer it over Code, which seems to get more favorable reviews. Not quite sure what it is about it specifically that grabs me...I just know that it is very, very sexy. My man prefers Code, and I'm so disappointed!!
