I have to admit that indulge myself, spray a bit on the back of my hand and forearm before I go to bed, and curl up into my pillow and have the best sleep. I use it only on the weekends, maybe too strong for the office. I'm drunk with it, it's a scent that has a long longevity, it's there the next afternoon if I've not washed.
It's a smoky rich scent that's not at sweet even though there's honey in there, or I think so.
Again, it's my favourite indulge. Diam Blond now has competition too.

I sat in a cloud of Rose Poivrée last night, a new package. There was at first a sharp note, but it's probably my imagination that it's like the sharpness in your nose on smelling a pepper grinder. ;-)

Then it settles down. It is not sweet and it's not pretty. It's a strong scent. I think the animalistic civit creates a like overripe rose edging on spoiled. But it's so interesting. "Roses really smell like poo-poo-poo". I don't doubt it now. I cannot wait until summer, to have the summer sun work on it, the heat'll make it overripen more quickly. For me, it's definitely NOT a you-love-it-or-you-hate it fragrance. You're drawn to it because you can't tell if the roses are beautiful or not beautiful but the interest in smelling it again and again is as pungent as the scent.

I didn't think the scent lasted very long though, gone in several hours....sigh.

I agree with phibess here, the comment about how cloying it is, it being so sweet. I think it's the vanilla. I laughed reading the 'have to wash it off....headache and nausea' because that happened to me too!

And how did I happen to have it? I'd gotten the Platinum and loved it and lost it on a trip and bought another bottle immediately ... I was so confused ... what was this? I couldn't wear it and couldn't understand what was wrong. But what I'd gone home with wasn't ÉP but just É. At the time I didn't even know there were two different fragrances. It was over a YEAR before I figured it out.

I let Vetitvers by Guerlin, Creed & Jo Malone dry down on my skin and bake in the sun and dry in salt sweat. If I'm outside all day then it's reasonable. Only Guerlin's captivated me. There wasn't anything pretty in there, maybe even dirty? Not interested in getting compliments, but I do feel that confidence that was alluded to below. It's a standard for me now.
