Once Upon a Time pour Femme by Kenzo

This is a wonderful unisex counterpart to the mens (also very unisex). Spicy, woody warmth with a blast of peony! Absolutely gorgeous! This sell like niche scent, reminds me of L'Artisan POIVRE PIQUANT. It is on sale in Debenhams as Kenzo Signature for some reason. Now at £24:50. I bought 2. This is outstanding!!!!

Outstanding 'cologne' type fragrance with a little modern twist. Think of 4711 with more depth and character. It also seems to last and project like and EDT, BONUS!! Just adore the stuff.

I'm very surprised at how lovely this is! At first spray I thought 'oh here we go, yet another synthetic ambery nonsense' but give it time to settle and it is really lovely. Sophisticated and sweet but not overbearing. I would describe it as an aromatic amber.

    Chinatown by Bond No. 9

I cannot believe this is a unisex scent! It's very rare for me to really dislike a scent but this actually made me feel really weird all day. Me no likey one little bit! Tuberose and coconut and other sickly sweet vileness.

I cannot believe the bad reviews for this! I ADORE it! Really different with a green start with a kick of, well something I can't quite describe. Wonderful stuff!

Jennifer Aniston / Lolavie by Jennifer Aniston

Surprisingly, this is a very well done green/floral fragrance. As usual, I feel it's quite unisex but then I always do! Starts out with a burst of citrus accompanied by a hint of the green leaves of the citrus grove. As it settles a floral accord comes through but not a girly skipping in the daisies floral, a sensible restrained and rather beautiful lily/jasmine. As far as celebrity scents go, this really has the feel of real work and attention to detail. I believe Jennifer really did put a lot of effort into the creative angle of this scent, and it shows. Comes off quite natural and lasts very well. All round thumbs up from me for sure!

Boss Orange Man by Hugo Boss

I HATED this from the sample bottle I received and wrote it off as synthetic crap. Then I sprayed some on me in a store and it was like a totally different fragrance! Yes, no doubt it is still synthetic crap but doesn't smell that way anymore!

P.S I also find it lasts for quite some time. I had sprayed it on my hand, as I'm a nurse I wash my hands over 10 times a day and could still smell it! Maybe the others need to give this a second go like I did!

Bijan Nude for Men by Bijan

This is really rather lovely! Clean, light fragrance with a hint of citrus. Nude describes it rather well! Only on first trying at the moment so will update as I wear! I was so impressed I've ordered another bottle! Well at £4:99 delivered for a 75ml tester, would be daft not to!

Cool Water Wave Woman by Davidoff

fresh fruit top notes of watermelon, mango, passion fruit and guava over floral mid notes of peony, freesia, and heliotrope. The scent finishes on base note of pink peppercorn, iris wood, sandalwood, amber and musk.

    Notes from Cheapsmells.com

Me likes! Woody/fruity/floral. Really does smell very unisex although I have not worn it for very long as yet. I get mango/melon over wood.

The reference to Bulgari Black are correct! Very similar but less rubbery and industrial feeling. Think of a more sophisticated mellowed out version. Much niceness!

    Deseo by Jennifer Lopez

This is lovely stuff. A nice subtle tropical fruity type scent. Rather unisex but I say that about most fragrances as I really don't care what lable the marketers put on it. Citrus followed by a tropical fruit accord with a tiny touch of coconut. Really lovely and mega cheap now! The bottle is so tacky it's cool!

Loud for Him by Tommy Hilfiger

Loud? LOUD?! Is TH trying to be ironic? This is one of the quietest fragrances I have ever tried! Very nicely done mind you, a little different from the norm. VERY mild patchouli and rose. Nice stuff but quiet!

Imagine a much quieter, more subtle Voleur De Roses. The rose is the most prominent note tamed by mild tobacco and patchouli. It's a grower!

    Art Collection #08 by Jacomo

SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICY!!! Starts off like mulled wine or similar to Guerlains Winter Delice. Thankfully (for my nose) the comparison does'nt last long and the spices fade into the back ground allowing the milky fruits, honey and amber to come through making this a beutiful autumn/winter fragrance.

I have to give Jacomo credit for trying something a little different and I would it works! You do really have to give a good skin test before you buy!

    Womanity by Thierry Mugler

This is yet another beauty from Mugler! Very different in the opening: starts with slightly sweet, slightly salty fruity note with a tiny touch of the caviar note coming through. It gives the fragrance a hint of "ocean" to it. Not aquatic as in other aquatic fragrances, actually "oceanic", almost fishy! Sounds odd and even unpleasant but this give the fragrance an animalistic edge. This note doesn't last too long and fades into the background popping out here and there to remind you of its presence.
The fragrance then settles into a slightly sweet, slightly salty "plump" mild fig/fig wood accord. To my nose as it progresses there is a little touch of vanilla to it.
I can honestly say, in the decades I have been involved in fragrance, I have never known a fragrance last so long! Also, my nose never seems to tire of it. Everyone eventually will get nose fatigue when smelling fragrances, but for some reason, I can constantly smell this!
Mugler say that a new technology was involved in creating this fragrance, a technology that truly captures the essence of a substance that you could not normally extract a compound usable in fragrance production. I would assume this would the caviar note. Very clever, very Mugler!
As much as this fragrance is pink and called Womanity, I find it really rather unisex. I think Mugler could have easily released this fragrance as a gender free and called it, Humanity.
I'm a man and I will certainly be wearing this, a lot!

I also cannot believe how many bad revies this fragrance has! It's WONDERFUL stuff! In short - Allure Blanche with a touch of suede in the base. Ok, there is more to it than that but I'm too tired to think! lol

    Vétiver by Carven

I love this, one the best vetivers around! Now I'm wondering, how many bottles has this had? My first bottle looked very cheap and basic, the one I have just bought has a wooden lid and looks a bit retro. Seems to be lasting well so I'm glad it's not the new square one people seem to be complaining about!

    Dalimix by Salvador Dali

REFORMULATION ALERT!!! This has just been relaunced by Cofinluxe along with 2 others, a complely new Dalimix Gold (all it shares is the name to the previous one) and Dalimix Black.

Cofinluxe have reformulated Dalimix, you can tell which is which as the new one says Dalimix Original on it and the juice is clear rather than yellowish like the old one. The new version is nowhere near as sharp and biting and doesn't appear to last as long. So I assume this is due to cheapening the formulation :o(

Thankfully I have 2 old version bottles as well!!

Wow this stuff is potent! It is now made under the name of Ted Lapidus Rumba. Identical fragrance! Grant tells me it's to do with Coty buying the Balenciagia licence. Interesting!

I'm surprisingly rather impressed with this! A peppery woody afair, not too sharp not too woody. Nothing ground breaking but very pleasent and doesn't come off as synthetic for a change! What is cedarwood hear LMR and leatherwood LMR? Am I missing the obvious, what does LMR mean?

This IS ExciTed. Not like it, it's the same product renamed. I bought this the other day as a tester and it has the same sticker on the bottle with note listing, exactly the same and they smell EXACTLY alike. Odd!

    Showtime by Kylie Minogue

I actually laughed when I smelled this, I didn't belive it possible that a fragrance could smell SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet! This really needs to come with a toothbrush. It's actually rather pleasent in a shower gel kinda way but my goodness, this is SWEET to the extreme!!! Like nothing I have ever smelled before! Screams strawberries with a touch of anise. Does settle down and the syrup does wear off a bit.

    (From Fragrantica)
Top notes are rosemary, orange blossom, mandarin orange, cassia, jasmine, rose, neroli, bergamot, bulgarian rose and lemon; middle notes are sandalwood, patchouli, lilac, orris root, vetiver, ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley; base notes are tolu balsam, amber, musk, benzoin, civet, vanilla, cedar and resins.

I'm amazed at this perfume. Made in 1962 yet doesn't smell dated. The great thing about womens fragrances from that era is they are now so unisex! I just adore this stuff!

Inverse - Kylie Minogue for Men by Kylie Minogue

Ok, I know I shouldn't but I really like this! I know it must be completely synthetic but it doesn't come across that way. Yes I like Kylie too hence why I tried it in the first place. It's now £4:75, come on! It's well worth it for those days when you're doin nothing special! Better than sooooo many other "designer" scents out there at the moment, like everything from P&G. Coty closely follow but at least they try to make the scent smell natural!

This is a beautiful scent, very grassy and slightly herbal. A beautful touch of sweetness too. Very unisex and doesn't smell dated at all. Love it! It can be had for less than £5 for a 100ml EDP at the moment, a steal!

    Badgley Mischka by Badgley Mischka

I'm amzaed I've missed this for so long, although it is only available in the UK in Harvey Nichols. LOVE this stuff! Again it doesn't smell all that girly to me. This could be that I've been so disapointed with mens fragranaces for so long, I may just be making them fit into "unisex" in my mind so that I don't feel too girly! lol. Anyway, this stuff is beautiful. Trying the parfum at the moment (The edp is following!) as it has been reduced from £155 to £27, hell knows why. Possibly because I think EA have recently aquired the contract. Very fruity, not unlike the top of many mens frags but does have that creamyness I just adore in fragrances. The sandalwood, muskc and patchouli really "ground" what could have ended up being a light and airy "girls skipping in the park" kinda thing which seems to be everywhere at the moment. Maybe this is where I get the unisex vibe from. Anyway, I don't care I LOVE it!
