Face à Face Homme by Façonnable

Straightforward, no-nonsense style. Extremely classy minty-herbal cocktail, neroli oil and cooling cedar notes. Conservative marine scent.

    Séxual by Michel Germain

A very round and warm fragrance redolent of flowers and soft spice that also gives an impression of fruit in the top notes. Nice, but don't let the name get your hopes up. A just-short-of-cloying come-hither evening scent. Similar to Ferragamo's Incanto.

    Incanto by Salvatore Ferragamo

Similar to Sexual by Michel Germain. A warm woody-floral with a hit of fruit on top. Nice, but not extraordinary -- a rather typical modern oriental.

I tried this one recently and i really didn't like it. I found it just smelt really chemically and strong. Not one for me i'm afraid.

    Terre d'Hermès by Hermès

This is just a hypnotic assortment of fruit (grapefruit), wood, wet soil after the rain, grass, pepper and something ... which smells like metal...but only an hour after you have applied it. I got a sample last night and could not wait for the Hermes boutique to open this morning so I could get the largest bottle. Wish this was an ocean I could swim into... If you liked Un Jardin sur le Nil, you will like this one even more, as with the time since the last release, they took the time to perfect the essence and make it so much more substantial and mature. Wearing the Terre feels like being in a company of a very good friend, rather than being wrapped in a blanket (Dior Homme), or lost in a cloud (Daim Blond). Love this stuff, am so happy it came out. Not to forget, quite good lasting power.

    Curzon by Geo F Trumper

this is just ok and nothing to write home about. spicy sweet number, with a bit of citrus to boot. wearable, but am positive that it smells identical to what an old maths teacher of mine used to wear hence i will not be buying or wearing again!

    Polo Black by Ralph Lauren

This is not a "Black" scent at all... Rather, it reminds me of Acqua di Gio with a synthetic, woody note. girls like it though... Go figure.

    Chamade by Guerlain

I was gifted with Chamade when I was fourteen or fifteen (in the 70's). It was the cologne strength that came in the round Guerlain splash bottle with the pointy cap. I didn't appreciate it at the time, it was too sophisticated for me, too green, too formal. I was into Love's musky jasmine and teenager scents. Years later, I revisited Chamade and appreciated it better. Then, some time after that, I bought it the parfum in the upside down heart shaped bottle. I thought the parfum was boring, it was too heavy - as in too weighty and closed in, not airy enough - it just didn't do anything for me, but maybe I'm still too unsophisticated for the parfum. I prefer the crisp and green airiness of the lighter formulation with the spiciness that comes through.

    Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior

I love the fresh smell of Eau Sauvage. I bought a bottle for my husband as a Christmas stocking stuffer. He hasn't worn it yet so I don't know whether he likes it. Maybe he will find it more agreeable this summer. I don't agree with Scenteur7 about its bitterness - I find it rather mellow - but everybody's take is different obviously. I know both sexes wear it, but on drydown it's still a tad too mannish to completely agree with my chemistry. I prefer Diorella, Eau Sauvage's twin sister, for myself.

Herrera for Men by Carolina Herrera

Thumb way up on this. This is one of my favorite men's fragrances. As a female, I find this fragrance sooo seductive and sexy. I bought some for my husband several years ago and wish I could persuade him to wear it more often, but I think the initial citrus just doesn't attract him. When he does occasionally wear it, I say, "What is that incredible scent you have on?" It turns so wonderful with his chemistry that I don't recognize it. He's actually more of an oriental guy, wore Obsession when I met him, and now reaches for Jaipur most often. Still...this one is perfect for him. Sexy but classy, and in the right dosage (meaning just a bit) -- devastating!

    Escape by Calvin Klein

when you're a 20 year old(years ago) and the delicious older lady you're dating wears this, you're not sure if you've fallen truly, madly for her or for her fragrance...i remeber nuzzling the nape of her neck and teasing her ear just to get a closer experience..its a magical fragrance...not too much is necessary...but it overpowered this young man into total submission..at least while we were together...evocative..that is the best a scent can do..5 stars

this is a lovely classicla fragrance which gets compliments from other guys instead of women..which is fine but i dont really wear it for the boys..nonetheless it really has a luch soft top note which slowly develops its deeper woody tones..a modern classic

far too strong and reeks of leather and musk..it overpowers your senses with these notes and then any redeeming factors are simply washed away...lasts for ages..unfortunately.it really is something for hairy chested lotharios lounging outside their dodgy brit pub-alikes in marbella and the med in general...wear a medallion plus this scent and you can join the club.

floral notes really stand out with this but the do tend to cloy and can seem a little muddled..there is a lot to take in for the olfactory senses but it is pleasant..if unmemorable.

again rather like armani's mania its a "nice" fragrance which is pleasant enough for regualr daywera but nothing extraordinary..at least not for myself..still it has a light top note which is easy on the nose but lasts a pathetically short time.."nice"

perhaps its become ubiquitous according to other esteemed reviewers but this is a gorgeous fragrance to the feminine olfactory senses. it is light and last a relatively short while on my skin but it will get so many compliments in its short skin lifespan that it'll be worth it

yep..an eighties classic but you have to love the pine and leather combo...its for those who can lounge without conflict of conscience in green leather couches located in antiquated gentlemen's clubs..it's smooth and you feel ever so comfortable..like an favourite old pair of slippers...i'm saving a bottle in cold storage for my retirement.
