    L'Eau d'Ambre Extrême / Ambre Extrême by L'Artisan Parfumeur

Not sure why I succumbed to this. I really prefer amber as a supplementary note, not a main dish. I thought it might settle down a bit, but that amber note kept giving plenty and I'm not that keen -- it's a bit jarring and slightly bitter imo. Can't thumbs down it though.

    Costes by Hôtel Costes

Gorgeous lavender/spice opening which quickly settles down to rose. But a beautiful, incensed tinged black rose. Smells similar to the Diptyque rose (Opone, i think), but far superior and easier to wear. A queen in the garden. Stunning!

Allure Homme Edition Blanche by Chanel

Not really a great fan of Chanel fragrances for men --- up to now! This starts very lemony, but gradually dries down to a soft wood & vanilla with the sicilian lemon still hanging on. Must admit I don't get all the notes listed, especially the ginger and amber. It's a work of art though and I really love it.

Polo Double Black by Ralph Lauren

Polo Double Black is to coffee as coffee is to espresso.

I received a tester of this sometime last year after another purchase, and I liked it immediately. I used the tester up, and eventually bought a bottle.

Polo Double Black, despite its dark name, as others here have mentioned, is surprisingly bright and spicy at the opening. Depending on how much you spray, the citrus can overpower, but this lasts only minutes. The top notes really shine - if you're lucky enough to be around other people before the top notes give way, you're sure to get a few compliments and smiles.

This is because the scent is mostly pleasant and slightly spicy, which gives it a little edge, and nothing really fights for your attention, all of the notes are in harmony. If you're not really trying or sniffing hard, you don't notice one note more than the others, you get a sense of the fragrance as a whole - and this is how a scent should be, in my opinion. Sure, if you get a good whiff you can pick out the notes, but think about it - if you walk past someone wearing a frag, and the first thing you notice (without trying) is "mango" or "vanilla" or "pepper" or whatever note happens to be dominant, then the fragrance is, for lack of a better word, juvenile.

Anyway, the reason I said "if you're lucky enough to be around" for the top notes, is that sadly, they don't last very long (unless you sprayed too much). The amazing sillage you get on top dissipates in less than one hour, and for some quite a bit less.

This is not necessarily a bad thing though, because what comes next is a very subdued, slightly sweet, slightly woody base. The coffee is almost completely smothered by the nutmeg, but in a way you don't mind it - if the coffee were any stronger, the scent, while probably resembling its namesake a bit more, might become unnervingly bitter. Here, the coffee gently smoothes the nutmeg's rough edges, making it more creamy, similar to chocolate. The middle and base notes do not have the same wow factor as the top, and they stay very close to the skin, while remaining very pleasant - the woodsy muskiness is there, but not so boldly that they "dirty" the smooth, milky scent.

At any rate, if someone is close enough to you to smell the drydown, then they deserve to know that you smell good, right?

The subdued nature of the drydown makes this frag a good candidate for layering or mixing - although I've tried neither. Alone, it remains clean and soothing, with a hint of sophistication.

    Incidentals:
Skin type: normal [not dry / not oily]

    Recommended for:
Age: Late teens to Early 30's.
    Seasons: All seasons.
    Time of Day: Daytime wear.

    Wish by Chopard

very sweet and sugary scent. Perhaps it’s too sweet. It is an Oriental - Vanilla type of scent.
It is suitable for people who enjoy the scent of Lily of the Valley, like me.
If you like this one, then you should definitely try out Lolita lempicka by Lolita lempicka and Angel by Thierry Mugler.
however, the scent might fades away too quickly.

    Rush by Gucci

It is a very unique perfume indeed. It is different than every other perfume I tried.
Once you smelled it you will want to smell it again even if it is not your favorite.
The type of this perfume is Chypre - Fruity
I can not determine what note that made it so different, but the combination of notes formed a very good scent overall. so thumbs up.

    Éclat d'Arpège by Lanvin

Very nice perfume, I had to buy this one. it is a Floral - Fruity type of scent.
It is one of my husband’s favorite women’s perfumes.
It smells a lot like Versace metal jeans for women so if you like one of them you will like the other, although the Versace one has a stronger scent.
My mom loves this perfume and I’m going to get it for her as a gift.

This is a very strong and unique perfume.
It needs to be worn a number of times to realize its uniqueness.
It is suitable to wear at night
It’s a shame that body shop stopped producing this very unique scent. I’m never gone finish the bottle I have at home, just so I could smell it in ten years time

Hugo Pure Purple by Hugo Boss

This is an innocent, soft, tender, and gentle smell. It is not strong a strong scent.
The design of the bottle did not match the scent. The bottle design drew the people’s attention away from the beautiful smell and made them presume that it is a strong scent, which is what happened to my friend.
It should be a more feminine bottle (like the bright crystal bottle by Versace) to match the scent and attracts the right people. So don’t judge the book by its cover.

    Versace by Versace

    woody and fresh scent.
The scent you get at the beginning is totally different than the scent you will get hours later. I personally love the second part of the scent.
there is some similarity between it and ‘be delicious’ by DKNY, perhaps it is the wood notes.
overall it is definitely a very nice smell

Polo Double Black by Ralph Lauren

Got a bottle for Christmas. Am sending it along with Pi, Joop, Ferre, and New Ego for a professional female opinion. They're suppose to be in the ultra-masculine category. See if she can't do something with these bad boys. Wish I had Cacharel and Fendi to send with them. Maybe compare them next year or two if they get legs like D&G and Gucci. Will keep you posted.

A nice fresh and sophisticated scent, but didn't work so well on my skin. At first it reminded me of a Hollister cologne but only slightly. Make sure to try this one out before buying to make sure it works with your body chemistry.

Paris Hilton for Men by Paris Hilton

If you really want to smell like a 50 cent cucumber then go right ahead. Here's a money saving tip if u want to smell like this stuff 1) Run down to your local supermarket and buy a cucumber. 2) Cut the cucumber in half then rub it all over yourself. 3) Eat the other half and save 25 cents. This stuff needs to be sold at the dollar store with a 50% markdown. This stuff really does give you a headache.

This fragrance is breathtaking - in a good way. It is a sexy, lingering fragrance that is very warm. You want to keep smelling yourself. Initially, the fragrance is overpowering. The dry down is well worth the wait!
