The floral opening - with the hyacinth being prominent indeed - is freshened up a bit by the influx of a lemony bigarade zestiness.

In the drydown the floral side wins out clearly, with jasmine, peony and touches of muguet resulting in a pleasant potpourri. This all is made smoother and creamier by an overlay of a pleasant ylang-ylang, and whilst being clearly on the sweet side of fragrances this mix is never too intrusive or cloying.

In the base a woodsy component is added, and the sweet character is deepened by an underlying carpet of a tonka impression.

I get moderate sillage, very good projection and six hours of longevity on my skin.

A lovely spring scent for day and evening, it is not without an original touch, albeit lacking vividness at times. 3/5.

An old-fashioned, clean & soapy rose with a scented face-powder vibe, soon joined by the cool, green floral note of hyacinth. There is a faint note of vetiver in the heart, drying down to a pleasantly creamy sandalwood. This is a very romantic scent & not at all sexy, but it lasts the longest of those l've tried from this house, & the luxurious body cream is particularly lovely for layering with spring floral fragrances.

I shouldn't like this scent, since I am not a rose fan, but for some reason, it grabbed me. This is more of an old-fashioned rose scent, with an almost creamy quality too it. Not terribly complex on my skin, but I've not smelled any other rose scent like it. I like Stella Sheer also, but this is a totally different rose scent, with a predominately sandalwood/vanilla drydown instead of amber (like Stella). Comforting. Notes include top notes of bigarde, hyacinth, vineyard peach ... heart notes of rose, peony, orange blossom, jasmine, ylang ylang ... base notes of cedarwood, sandalwood, vetyver, vanilla, transparent musks. Available at parfum1.com for $37.95 (plus shipping). See the reviews for "hyacinth rose" also (same scent).
