I picked up some balsam fir essential oil today and I love it. It has that classic 'christmas tree' smell to it along with a eucalyptus note that is refreshing and invigorating.
If anybody else has experience with this oil I would be happy to hear.
(first post as a new member of this group btw)
Yes fir is the classic christmas tree. Fir balsam is one of my favorite perfumery ingredients. I recommend keeping it in the fridge. My black spruce oil doesn't smell as good as it used to, but that is another great conifer extract if you find a good source. I bought it from Nature's Gift.
I was just on Nature's Gift's website and searched for Black Spruce. It seems very nice and now im interested...
Welcome DtheJg, and many thanks for the post! In the winter, I love to have a simmering potpourri going in my office, with some essential oils like the one you mention. I can also recommend frankincense (probably my favorite EO).
Thanks odysseusm. I really need to get some frankincense. I'm really loving the resinous oils and resin itself lately.
