Okay so why not go with the other side of the coin. The fragrance monstrosities, the gnat's urine, the clown flatus, all of those fragrances that we love to hate. So how about we start with A and work through the alphabet. I imagine we will spend a long time in the N section, trying to figure which is the worst Nautica fragrance.
A - i will let someone choose this one.
I am afraid this will get even way more personal (PC, lol) than the other thread and much talk will be are about current versions vs original I guess.
Here some of my personal dislikes:
A= Aramis 900 I really did not like at all but I am not going to say it is a bad fragrance per se.
B= Boss Number One (current version!) Only fragrance I associate with the smell of old urine. Disgusting to say the least.
D= Dreamer, The by Versace: Current version is dreadful imo while vintage is very good/D&G PH UK Version
E= Etienne Aigner No.2 (current version!). Disgusting sharp soap fragrance to me in a very bad way
H= Halston Z14 (current version!) Only frag I need to call dated and vile (vintage I never smelled). Yuck!
LOL Boss number One, Halston z-14 are two of my favourites!
i just saw AC DC cologne at a store today...smelt it...absolutely awful chemical mess. A definite contender for worst A fragrance....and i do not like the band either.
A - Got to be Aqua Velva, my first cologne, and I bet many of you got initiated with this slop too
and for S - I nominate Skin Bracer
What's wrong with Z-14???? A masterpiece!!!!!
Are Boss No. 1 and Halston Z-14 in current formulation two of your favs??
Especially on Halston Z-14 I hardly read anything positive about this formulation (vintage maybe very good but never smelled). I owned it and sold it as fast as I could. Those reviewers were spot on as it was dreadful! A masterpiece? For 100+ people maybe (current formula).
The old Ac Dc as a band was brilliant and ground breaking imo.
P = Preferred Stock: smelled like a rotten version of current Giorgio Red to me. Awful to say the least but again, to each his own!
B - Best by Lomani
D - Do-It by Lomani
M - Mister Lomani
Those three are awful, but do not think I am an anti-Lomani jerk, I like Lomani by Lomani a lot and today I am "test driving" El Paso by Lomani and so far I like it too.
I have, i think the previous formulation before the manufacturer took oakmoss out of Halston Z-14. It is awesome, rich, kinda dirty smelling. IMHO not a candidate for worst anything. Boss no 1 I have is an older bottle I got 2nd hand on Ebay.
In regard to ACDC the band, they were big here in Australia (Bon Scott was from Fremantle, which is close to where I live. Give me Mountain (Leslie West) or Wishbone Ash any day!
For B, perhaps Be by Calvin Klein?
I, again, was talking about the reformulations only regarding Halston Z-14 (and Boss No. 1 for that matter). For me, personally, they both should be on the list. I expected you to comment on 'Preferred Stock' as well, lol.
Yeah and Angus Young already lives in the Netherlands for years!
Ok, make B the Clavin Klein one 'BE' as it is terrible as well!
I have very happy thoughts about Preferred Stock. I bought my bottles while on holiday in the US, specifically at Walmart 3300, Tri City Drive Newcastle Oklahoma 73065 on 17th December 2012 at 22:16:42. I paid $14.84 for a two pack of 50ml bottles. As I bought them at the start of my holiday and used them throughout my trip, each time I wear it, it reminds me of my holiday, my good friends (who I was with at the time). I think the fragrance is excellent and well worthy of being included on the greatest powerhouse (or maybe the most undervalued powerhouse) list. When i got back to Australia I could only find one bottle, i thought maybe I had lost it, maybe it was stolen in a baggage check. Three weeks ago I pulled a pair of thick socks out of the drawer and felt something inside...and there was the second unused bottle. I think the fragrance is classy and a great fougere
