Worth revisiting this scent -- I have had various opinions on it.

I am sure that this scent has changed since the time I acquired it. It now leads with a rich, balsamic, dark-chocolate note, framed by green resins. It is a rather odd combination, the foody with the conifer. Wood notes are still there, but they are less foreground.

Interesting how my opinion of this scent has changed -- perhaps the scent has changed as well. It is an organic scent (no preservatives or fixatives), and in a splash bottle so it has come into contact with my skin. Thus, it may have changed over the years. It has a rich balsamic note, of deep woods and something like cocoa powder. Still quite resinous. All of the Patyka line has been discontinued. I wouldn't call this a Holy Grail scent, and I now wear it only once in a while.

I bet the essential oils and absolutes macerated over time, smoothing out the sharp accords to leave the more balsamic undertones.

My experience from about 8 years back matches your earlier assessment.
