We all know what pheromone perfumes are supposed to do, to make you irresistibly attracting to the opposite gender. I do not believe in this, even though some sites selling such scents are full of feed back from satisfied customers.
However I am convinced that animal pheromones should have some kind of effect on human beings. Researching this field with butterflies or cows is much more easy than with human beings, because in humans, physical attractions and like/dislikes phenomenons are in great part conditioned by the intellective brain through intellectual interaction, while in animals they are conditioned quasi exclusively by the endocrine system through the sense of smell.
Our intellective brain can also easily be the cause of placebo effects, which are not possible in animals.
This is why the most difficult thing to set up in this field of research is a protocol of experimentation.
We should approach this with the most simple experiments at first, they will already be complicated enough.
I am asking to you all who is ready to participate in this experiment.

Of course I will participate. It occurs to me that we might conduct what is known in science as a double blind study. In such a study, neither the subjects of the test nor the researchers administering the test know the identity of the material being tested. For this to work for us, maybe The Perfumed Court could supply samples labelled "Pheromone A" or "Pheromone B" and they would also need to have some serial number for ID purposes. Only Lisa at perfumed court would actually know what is in "Pheromone A" or B, serial number 6409, etc. Half would have no pheromone, consisting only of 95% Ethanol (or perhaps some non-pheromone containing scent such as Bergamot). The other half would contain actual Civet or Castoreum, etc. perhaps together with the Bergamot. The point is: half the people in the game receiving Pheromone A would get a placebo, but not be aware of it. Only the serial numbers would trace back to the true identity but you would not be allowed to find out until after you experimented with the perfumes to find a pheromone effect. We amateur perfumers could "experiment" with our "Pheromones" and report our results from the field. Later Dominique and Lisa can compare the results with the actual facts of what people had received.

Bshell, thank you for getting on board with this. Your aproach to the problem of getting to the truth without being influenced by what one knows is right. I have already thought of a simpler way to cope with it. I shall explain it to you when we are ready to start, hoping other friends of the group are interested to participate.

    Hi Abdesalaam,

I would like to partake in this experiment as well if there is still room. This would be the first experiment that I would participate with this group so please let me know what the protocols are and what materials I would need to get and from where when you are ready to proceed.

Dear Puente, at this stage the volonteers are coming out. There should be a sufficient number of researchers otherwise the experiments will not be able to conclude to anything. The protocols of experimentation will come with every game and you should not worry about the material as I shall provide for that.

Great! Thank you Abdesalaam. You can definitely count me in then.
Also, count me in. I have been spraying my castoreum and Civets for the past week but they disappear very quickly with no noticeable effects on me or other beside the initial "shock".

Thank you for joining Masstika. What you say will be our first lesson and will originate our first protocol: we shall use our scents on our dress and not on our skin.

is it too late to join in? and will my co-workers complain if I wear civet-soaked clothing to work?

Dear Abysinth, do not worry, there is still room for the brave, you are the fifth volonteer, we need a few more to make the project worthy of realizing.
Do not worry about being kicked out when soaked with Civet, you will rather be respected. I personally wear it purposely every time I have to go to the police. I can assure you that they treat me with unusual regard.
Rather fear to end up like the character of the Suskin's book. Although it is an insane caricature of zero letterary value of this very subject, it has the merit to have brought to the mass the conciousness of what are pheromones.

any other takers? I'm hoping so because I think this would be fun to do!

(oh yeah, anybody know how to add a profile picture? I can't figure it out)

I have lots of hyrax, castoreum and civet (from profumo.it) to try on my clothing, so just let me know when to start and how to go about doing it. If I can get some ambergris or more Bee somehow, please let me know. Some day I really want to try ambergris, but it's a bit expensive.

Dear Bary, we are still waiting for more volonteers. You all can get more free samples from the perfumed court along with any order you pass there. Of course any member who passes order at profumo will have bigger samples and a friends treatment.
