I don't like the reviews fading to nothing with the choice to "Show More"

The truncation point is completely arbitrary. If I am reading a bunch of reviews, I would like to be the one to decide if I want to read the whole review, and not the web designer. If a review has merit, I'll read the whole thing. If not, I'm happy to scroll past it. Making me click "Show More" simply to read to the end of a review seems like just another example of the declining attention span of the average reader. If I put effort into reviewing a perfume in depth, give me some credit and print the whole review. I find the current formatting disrespectful of the amount of work community members put into crafting their reviews, and basically a slap in the face.

Indeed. If the most that people are likely to see is the first sentence of any review, that's really demoralizing for the writer.

I don't mind the "Show More" link, but I prefer reading the complete reviews. It would be better if they AJAX'ed "Show More", that way, the page would not reload to a single review.

Maybe some people prefer this current/new setup, but I'd love to have options in Profile Preferences where I can choose how many reviews to appear in a page, and an option to read reviews completely.

I guess it doesn't bother me as much as other Basenoters but I'm all for options given to users to make their own decisions.

I agree completely.  This is just one of many anti-review (intentional or unintentional) changes the site has made after the transition, and it appears little thought was given to the consequences of the changes.  Very disappointing indeed!

The presentation of reviews on the mobile version is terrible.

To read a review I have to click on a specific review listed on the main fragrance page. After I read it I then have to return to the fragrance page and select another review. One be one, slowly, arduously, inefficiently, click by click.

Please make a page with all reviews for a fragrance which can be read by scrolling rather than this piecemeal, almost useless method in place now.

I am apalled by the lack of functionality (and apparent lack of thought) that characterizes the mobile version.

I'm dismayed that they messed with this. If it ain't broke and all that. The colour coding made things nice and easy.  The overall feeling for me on the whole change is that they tried to "fix" far too much. I would have been happy with less downtime & leaving the rest as it was.  It was functional & useful. Now IMO, it's much less so.

But they made it look nice...

I prefer seeing the review in its entirety rather than having to select "Show more".

I absolutely loathe the way that the "See all (x-number) Reviews" feature works. It refreshes the page and takes you back to the top of the page. Then you have to go through them all again to find where you left off.
What an absurd feature!. Leave the readers position as is, so they don't have to go scrolling them them all again just to find where they left off. Or simply have the reviews in their entirety, page them if you have to, but don't create these annoying compacting measures.

Agreed. The whole review page is a big step backwards I'm afraid.
