I sampled it, it didn't blow me away. What is your opinion of it.
One of Calice Becker's best scents. A rich, complex, mercurial pipe tobacco for some; and a comforting, warm honey-soaked blanket for others. Brilliant articulation, quite sweet but not teeth-rottingly so like Becker's first creation for the brand. Although I don't wear it out much (it's very strong), I do enjoy wearing it at home -- especially when reading.
For my money, this and A Taste of Heaven are her two masterpieces for Kilian.
OP: I wasn't thrilled with it the first time I tried it either and had to return to it later develop my appreciation for it.
Back to Black is the second By Kilian in my collection, and an amazing one at that. On my skin, it's a rich, warm honeyed cherry pipe tobacco that reminds me of the smell of a combination newsstand and tobacconist from my childhood.
It has to be up there with sister scent Straight to Heaven among the top 5 scents that I own.
I expected more from it. It's a cool scent, but really hard for me to wear, and there's a powderiness to it that pushes it into 'old lady' territory for me. Quality and different from most of what I've tried, just not my thing personally. I sold the tester I had. I kind of wish I had like a 5ml decant of it or something, but that's it.
