I don't know the pyramid, I had read the registration of the name by Estée Lauder at the end of 2012. Now seems to be confirmed, because it appears in some important blogs.
The name suggest an eye to the possibly lucrative Chinese market. If industry wisdom prevails (East Asians like light watery sludges), it might be just that. We shall smell. In any case, at least it wouldn't be as sharp and upleasant as the current white floral in the line, Champaca.
(Ideally, one would have preferred that he perfected the hyacinth or the jonquil ...)
I wouldn't that the Japanise theme, usually very attractive, hides another extremely transparent and minimal scent.
I was disappointed by the latest releases of Private Blend, like You. Probably the sales failure of Moss Breches, Japon Noir, Bois Rouge... their best for me; has determined the future choices aiming less at the Tom Ford of M7 - Rush - etc etc, looking to customers less conscious and more commercial.
