How would you compare these two scents? What do you prefer and why?
Also how is longevity and silage?
Agreed, Vetiver 46's incense doesn't have the slight hint of lemon that's in 2 Man either. Vetiver 46 is a more simple shell of 2 Man. If I'm not mistaken alfarom posted a little while ago saying CDG took what was Vetiver 46 from Buxton's book and added a few components. I believe they were leather, lemon and the snuffed candle note.
Also, I find both have similar longevity and silage. 2 Man does project a bit more off the top with the dose of aldehydes that carry the lovely lemony incense to your nose.
I still get a candle smoke effect from Vetiver 46, though without the waxy quality in CdG 2 Man. Both fragrances are by Mark Buxton -- and the CdG came first. Some have described Vetiver 46 as an EdP formulation of 2 Man, and that's not too far off. 2 Man is a bit lighter and shifts to a subdued woodsy leather, whereas Vetiver 46 lasts longer and develops into vanilla and more distinct woods.
I guess I have to give this a stronger wearing...I didn't get waxy candle at all. I got some light smoke with incense which I found it to be more along the lines of GPHI.
