    Hey 'noters,

I was just curious to see who on here prefers the old style website. I find this new set up a little too "busy" and somewhat more difficult to use. I found the former much cleaner and easier to browse through. For those of you who prefer the new look and new site, sell me its virtues, please.

Other than some of the functionality that is missing I dig the new layout, it is more modern, friendly on the eyes and easier to navigate imo. I do prefer the Wardrobe and SOTD feature from the old format, which I am inclined to believe that they will bring back.

I like the look of the new one better, but some functionality seems to be MIA.

Is there a way to reverse the order of the thread posts (newest first) ?

I agree. I also feel that adding a fragrance to your wardrobe was easier and better.

    I prefer the old version...

I believe the new layout has strengths where the old layout did not, and vice versa. Particularly with respect to the latter's handling of a fragrance information page - The old layout was far superior and the "thumbs up/down" images and the note pyramids were GREAT. Now the fragrance pages are an eyesore, especially on a mobile phone.

I really enjoy the new layouts look and feel, especially on my phone. I find it easy to navigate at home and work too. No problems with fonts or anything like that. I wasn't big into using the wardrobe and things of that nature so the old versions way of doing things doesn't matter to me here. As far as the reviews. I read them more than thing...up, down, 5 star, 3 star...so as long as I can see what notes and issues people encounter I'm fine.

While I enjoy some minor aspects of the new version's layout, on the whole the old one supported more of the things I come here for and was much more easy to navigate. The old format gets my vote.

Switched from mobile to desktop and fixed most of my issues.
Still much prefer the old format to the new. Thought I would get used to it, but it hasn't happened yet.frown.gif

I have to admit it is unfair to judge and compare the new and as of yet unfinished Basenotes to the old Basenotes.

Reserving judgement. Grant has mentionedelsewhere that this is still a work in progress, withfunctions stillto be finalised and added. Would it notbe more sensible to conduct a poll like this in a few weeks time when the finished article is up and running ?Just a thought rolleyes.gif....

Unless the outfit that's crafting this place gives up on it too soon, I suspect it will end up with most of the same features and functions of the old site.

It's way too early to make a judgment now, I suspect. The old site had a lot of fairly custom features, and rebuilding those from the ground up again...I imagine it might be quite a task. While I expect to see the wardrobe with many of it's old features, the previous data that used to be in our wardrobes, perhaps it really is beyond retrieval...

But yeah, I liked the somewhat funky appearance of the old version. I get the feeling that this time we'll end up with a more of a slim, lean and spare looking site.

The sort of thing that Chandler Burr would approve of, for any of you who smelled the things he included in his "Untitled" project.

More of a skin-scent /Jean-Claude Ellenaversion of the old format.

Like the old set up, but I can get use to the new set up the same way I got use to the old one.
