    Thread & Topic info

Previously you'd be able to see similar threads at the bottom of a thread. Was very handy for moving from thread to thread about a certain perfume or discussion.

That option seems to have disappeared.

Also, on most other forums , when you are creating a new thread and specifically when typing in the thread title, you're prompted with other similar threads that may have the info you need. It helps deter redundant topics.

How comes this hasn't been implemented here?

    Thanks.

Related threads also used to appear on review pages. Now we just get the same 3 puerile ones about making 'females' panties drop or WTTE.

    One for the snagging list.

If one manages to double post or even triple post as I just did. How do you cancel the whole second post? Accidentally double tapping the reply button twice is very easy to do. The old site had a posting time delay I think that prevented this happening.

Sorry mumsy, agree seems to happen on mobiles, so agree for the list.

This should work for related threads, etc., if we use it - haven't had time to try myself yet, so please re-post if it doesn't ;)

May check it out later & will edit post if that happens.

go from Home page -Articles - Info.- loads of guides there, not all features functional atm.

    Lpp,

Previously, when reading a thread about say Rose 31 vs Lyric Man.

At the end of the thread itself, there would be 4 or 5 links to threads with similar topics (either about rose 31 or lyric or roses).

    That feature disappeared.

Also, when creating a new thread, why ot prompt the user with other existing threads that may already resolve his/her query. It'll deter redundant threads.

It's to do with Tags, may not be functional - will check it out & come back if possible.

just contributing towards fine tuning BN.

Cheers, back for a bit, going to check it out.

    Thx

    Edit:

Tried to add 'tag' APH in this thread

    http://www.basenotes.net/t/372372/azzaro-pour-homme-vs-paco-rabanne-pour-homme

but was re-directed to a page telling me that I had insufficient permissions.

This is where you should be able to find similar ? topics, but it just threw up a list of other fragrances beginning with the letter 'A'

It's on the right hand side of the page.

Didn't read Tutorial further as yet.

I seem to think that it may have worked during testing, so will probably function properly when the site is completed.

My brain may not have returned to it's normal place yet, will try again in a few days.

Thanks for pointing out that it's not working, hedonist :)

    Going to feed dogs.

Sorry - didn't understand all that tagging stuff.

I just wondered if we were able to delete a double post or not ourselves.

.... or maybe i'm just thick.

mumsy - Hedonist was asking about what I'm assuming is now the new 'tagging' system', in place of the previous system of related threads shown at the bottom of the pages..

You were asking about double post issues?

My brain is so fried that I didn't reply clearly in my post #4 .

I imagine that we can't delete them ourselves, but can edit them.

    Apologies for the confusion.

I don't think what I am referring to had anything to do with tagging.

I'm pretty sure I remember "suggested threads" being generated at the bottom that had no tags.

Yes, I think that 'suggested threads' has been replaced by 'Tagging', which may not be working properly yet, but could be wrong as I haven't had time to explore it in detail..

    Maybe someone else knows?

Tagging was nice in theory but in practice hardly anybody takes the time to add "tags" to their threads. I bet a lot of people aren't even aware of the concept.

I didn't tag anything in this thread.

"Suggested threads" technology previously did not require manual input from the user. Now it does?

    Can't be bothered frankly.

Can't see it being used much, but could be wrong.

Even if people were aware, it could be subject to abuse imo.
