As I mentioned in my original post, I have been wearing Acqua di Parma for over ten years, and have had 7 bottles over the years. AdP was my first niche fragrance and easily my all time favorite cologne. Generally speaking, I noticed some slight differences over the years, but for the most part, Colonia always followed the same formula- a very tart lemony citrus opening and a great herbal / flowery / powdery dry down. It lasted all day on me and would leave a noticeable heavy sent on my clothes.
This most recent bottle, not so much. The scent itself is (mostly) the same, just lighter across the board. The citrus opening is very short, then the scent disappears for a while and comes back with a lighter version of the herbal / flowery / powdery dry down. It no longer seems to last all day, nor do I notice the scent on my clothes the next day. I must admit, this is the most wearable of the bottles that I have owned- especially at work. Some of the older bottles were too pungent for work.
Buzzlepuff, thank you for the detailed comparisons. I am glad to hear that I am not going crazy!
Who knows, maybe I just got a weak bottle.
