PLEASE Check out Armand Basi PH (the white and black bottle).
It has the vanilla of Le Male, but also some really interesting florals (lilac!) and spices, and a nice guaiacwood dry down. It's part Le Male, part Armani Code (a faint anise quality, the smoky guaic), and even a small part Azzaro Visit (the nutmeg).
Overall though, the vibe is still close to Le Male, while the scent is far more interesting and unique. Best of all, it is dirt cheap!
edit: Should also mention I sent a blind sample of this to a friend (along with 9 other blind samples) and his initial short impression was:
"Peppery. Reminded me of Reflection Man."
Also check out Fahrenheit 32. It's closer to Le Male than Fleur du Male, imo.
I suggest this one hesitantly, as many do find it cloying, but there's something about it that I find wonderfully unique. Lots of vanilla, but also a glassy iris, some violet and rose alongside the orangeflower. It's fairly synthetic but in a wonderful way, imo. It's akin to abstract, minimalistic art.
I have an uncle who also used Le Male exclusively, I got him a bottle of Chanel Egoiste to replace it. Seems to have done the trick.
