    Staining clothes

This morning while I was applying Ramon Monegal Dry Wood the atomizer got turned backward and I spritzed a full spray right on my shirt at close range. Being close to the shirt it made a wet spot. When it dried it made a stain similar to spilling grease on myself. Makes sense b/c it does have oil in it but I've never had that happen before... Had to change my shirt. Anyone else have frags stain clothes? I've always wondered about those green slumber house oils.... I bet they stain!

Happened a few times with my shirts but the stains always came out after having them sent to the dry cleaners.

    I share the same sentiment.

Some do, if applied at close range. For instance, vintage Tabu famously stained dark brown, and Sarrasins stains purple. But it goes away when washed.

Some fragrances will also discolour under the influence of sunlight, so it may appear to be OK when you first spray but after a few hours in the light you will get staining. If you must spray clothes make sure that it is where no staining can be seen.

The close contact spritz was accidental, forgot to spritz until the shirt was on, and the atomizer got twisted so it missed my chest and hit my shirt. I DO usually do spray clothes from a distance with my frags that just don't last on skin...Creed Himalaya, Aventus, and some of my Heeley samples. No problem if you get a wide dispersal pattern. It didn't stain b/c of color, Dry Wood is almost clear, it was a "grease spot" stain from the oils. But I guarantee that Norne by Slumberhouse would stain, it colored my card I spritzed green!!!

    sometimes on dark colored clothes

On white shirts, I don't but do spray on dark colored shirts especially those fleeting scents ( if on skin).

I wouldn't spray Chergui or any of the dark coloured Lutens on a shirt unless it's a very dark shirt.

When wearing a darker or coloured fragrance, like Sweet Redemption - By Kilian, I'll apply it to my skin before putting on my clothes.

Shouldn't we have a sticky for the list of those fragrances that stain you think?
