Adding to my collection

    Adding to my collection

My partner and I share a small collection of scents. I do love a more unisex scent and have a fondness for tobacco, wood and leather also love hints of jasmine. I want to add a couple more to the mix and are considering Chanel Cuir De Russie, Puredistance M, Jo Malone Oud and Bergamont, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Gucci Pour Homme 1.

    Currently the collection includes:
    -Adventus (Creed)
    -Egoiste (Chanel)
    -platinum Egoiste (Chanel)
-Fahrenheit (Dior, Vintage mindblowingly beautiful btw)
    -Madam Moiselle (Chanel)
    -Jasmine Absolute (Intelligent Nutrients)
    -Kelly Calache (Hermes)
And soon to arrive Attimo (Ferragamo)

Anything advice on what to go for or others I might try? I'm trying to keep the collection smallish and swap out depending on season. Thanks in advance!

    Hello!

For sure check out Jasmin et Cigarette, by Etat Libre d'Orange.  Their fragrances are very love/hate, so you'll know right away whether you've found a winner.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Oud is definitely a winner.

I get TONS of compliments from women and men, but I never tell them what I'm wearing.  That juice is crazy alluring.  Give it a try for sure...

... oh, and check out Tuscan Leather, Tom Ford if you haven't already.  Same results.  It smells like a high-quality leather jacket with a suede lining.  Be easy on the trigger though...

I definitely second Cuir de Russie, as smooth and rich as it gets. Even smoother and more skin like in the parfum version (which is obviously much more expensive). And I second Jasmine et cigarette, exactly as per name.

But to remain within the classic style of leather-woods, I'd mention also Guerlain Derby.

Expensive, even if you jus buy the refills, but I suggest that you try out by Kilian parfums, most are unisex and they last easily 8-10 hrs... Excellent silage as well, so, 1-2 sprays is good...

I would exclude jo malone out from your list, unless you want to spend 120 odd for a scent that lasts 2 hrs...

Cuir de Russie is grt and worthy of a full bottle.

Off the top of my head Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather seems about right, it's smoky and leathery as well as being a bit sweet, it's a great fragrance that I think could be unisex depending on who you're sharing it with and whether they can pull it off

I think Cuir De Russie and Gucci Pour Homme 1 would be excellent choices.

    Dior Homme Intense

Oud Bergamot is outstanding in all aspects except protection /longevity. No more than an hour of projection.

Have you considered Leather Oud and Parfum d'Habit.

    Burberry London

    D&G pour home

    Pure Havane

Definitely take the Puredistance for a spin. Check out more than just Tobacco Vanille from TF (as a fan of the line, that's one of the few I dislike). Explore the MFK line, but most importantly -- given your like of tobacco, wood, and leather, Slumberhouse should be high on your list. Happy sniffing!

Thank you for the suggestions! I will add some more to the sniff list before buying. To be honest Cuir de Russie already made the cut so its just getting to try the parfum as my local Chanel boutique doesn't carry this version. I love the dry down of the Oud and bergamont but I'm not sure if I would be annoyed each time I wear it due to the crap longevity and nil projection.

Since you already have 4 very nice Chanels, I'd suggest checking out 3 others from their unisex "les exclusifs" line - Coromandel (amazing!), Bois des Iles, and Cuir de Russie.

The Cuir de Russie is the front runner at the moment, my Chanel Boutique doesn't stock the parfum so I'm going to have to track that down. I liked Coromandel, Bois and Scyamore as well. Thanks for the suggestions. It might be the case if getting them all smile.gif

Cuir de Russie would be a fine choice.
