You give the buyer your paypal address and they make the payment.

Yeah I didn't know this either until a couple days ago...but all it took was putting in someone's email address that's linked to their Paypal account:)

    Easy enough....

I have a few bottles of stuff I'd like to sell and avoiding those AWFUL ebay fees makes more sense to sell them here....

This was my exact thinking also! Had a bunch I'd like to swap/sell, but couldn't figure out why I couldn't post?! Then read that you either have to me a member for at least a year, or have a min. 500 post. Just super bummed I decided to only stay a lurker on here for so long before I pulled the trigger and signed up.frown.gif

Go to Paypal, create a transaction, and have it sent to his or her email address.

How do I start a new thread under the "items to sell" category....There is no button to push to do this? do I need to notify somebody? I have over 500 posts so I should be ok to do this.... Thanks for everybody's help!

To OP, mozy on over to the sales forum (http://www.basenotes.net/f/30/items-for-sale).  Look for a dark blue button that reads "Start a New Thread" and click on it to create your sales thread.

I look forward to seeing what you have to offer.

how about you send a message to a moderator or something?  Having 500 posts doesn't mean you can start selling stuff cuz you only joined less than a month ago!

OP, ^^ this ^^ is great advice as there are numerous rules and conditions to satisfy to sell/swap in the marketplace.  In my experience, moderators have been super helpful navigating those waters.

Considering you've posted 20 posts a day since you joined, I'd say BN has an automatic block for such voluminuous posters to prevent people posting solely to get their post count up to sell on the marketplace. They make reference to such a rule in the marketplace sticky.

    I'd send them a PM.

If you do set up sale threads...BE CAREFUL and read all the rules twice. I ended up in hot water several times for not reading the "fine print" of some of the rules. Some rules were later superseded by newer revised rules...bottom line read the rules like you were a lawyer!!!!

Brilliant that you've pointed this out.  Thank you.

don't you need to be a member for a year before you can post in the sales forum?

Well that was not my intention....I just noticed I was over 500 posts but you guys could be right....maybe it's because of a lot of posts in a short period of time perhaps...
