I sprayed my normal 4 to 5 sprays of Gendarme today (2 on the chest, 1 on the back of the neck, and 1 on each arm at work) at 8 this morning. An hour ago, I wanted to try my MJ Legend cologne I bought a month ago. I sprayed 2 times on my arm. Didn't smell it. So I sprayed it 4 times. Smells like a skin scent now.

P.S also, my ac was out for 2 days and we had it fixed yesterday. My house went up to 90 degrees. Do you think my frags ruined? Thanks!

I'm almost certain all your frags have been ruined.  The only way I can be certain though is if you send them to me and I can do further testing.

I don't think the increase in temperature would have affected your fragrances. Perhaps your nose was having an off day.

Something is wrong with your nose.

The various scents I've kept in my car have easily survived over 122 degrees F without any problem.

Maye you were moving a lot.
Sometimes some perfumes don't project upwards when you move.
While some project so well that you can still smell it even when moving.

Not ruined IMO.   It that were the case, nothing could really be shipped in the summer months.

Prolonged heat or excess, prolonged light may ruin a scent but most will still survive for a long while in bad conditions and this from a paranoid guy that keeps his stuff in a dedicated refrigerator! laugh.gif

I am in agreement with those that say this is your nose.

Give yourself a break and then hit it again.

Why in a fridge? Wouldn't room temp be just fine for your frags?

The fridge is probably overkill.  I've done it for years and it has preserved everything that's in it perfectly for a long while.

The Osmotheque museum does this as do Frederic Malle, Le Labo and if I recall correctly, Luca Turin, The Fragrance foundation and countless others are OK with it too.     YMMV. laugh.gif
