I'm working in a warm floral composition, and since I'm very happy with the results so far, I asked some friends to try it to get some feedback for it.
I got many praises, but also comments like 'it is not so modern' or 'lacks of roundness' or 'sharpness'.
And I actually agree with that. I also get a rich / expensive feeling and kind of vintage, but this is not the fragrance I want to create.
Since these may sound very abstract, lets say that the current result is closer to the feeling of a L'Artisan Parfumeur perfume (rich, quality, a little vintage, for ages above 30+ maybe) and what I want to make is closer to the feeling of a contemporary perfume like Francis Kurkdjian lets say, or designer fragrances like Prada (sharpness, modernity, echoes, for younger ages).
How do you finalise your perfume to get a contemporary feeling?
Traces of what materials do you use at the end?
Aldehydes maybe? Some particular absolutes?
Traces of cosmone are nice but again not to the direction I described above.
