Please compare / vote, which one you like better. Why, if you like ? If you like the "standard" Jazz better than any of those flankers, please tell. Thanks
I, personally, am very impressed with Jazz Prestige...the 'lost YSL' bottle. Legend has it, only a single batch was ever produced. What inspired it, who knows? However, when something like this comes along - you admire and be thankful to enjoy, and don't ask questions. Jazz Prestige...like a great improv solo by Miles Davis, who walks onto a small stage in dimly lit, smoke-filled lounge with a solid rhythm of bass thumping and skip-beat snare with light splashes on the drum kit to introduce him. One solo, in the middle of a song that we all know as Vintage YSL Original Jazz (my absolute 2nd favorite in the line-up)...blazing high-end opening with a full melodic run throughout. Pure inspiration. One solo. He walks off-stage, with people in awe and a quiet round of applause - disappearing into the dark corner he was sitting in. Afterwards, you go to find him and he vanished like an apparition. He was there as you can still hear his notes in your mind, and then you realize it was just a fateful moment that brought it together and you were there to witness it. A story to share with jazz lovers the rest of your days...
Vintage YSL Original Jazz has a brilliant, aromatic aura - it can be worn for virtually any occasion. Prestige is an Eau de Toilette Concentree...amazing richness and depth. A bit more difficult on when to wear it, but just know it will be playing in your mind and radiating itself for a long time. Incredible fragrance!
Live Jazz is good, but a lighter & cleaner scent - with nice citrus & mint. It is nice, very nice actually in warmer weather. It simply does not possess the richness or depth of the Original Vintage Jazz bottling and not close to Prestige. The only comparison I can make is Original Vintage to Prestige and even then - it seems like a continuation of the same thought, but mind-blowing and definitely on another level of power, depth & richness. However, both are excellent...and I could apply either and 'listen' to them, anytime!
I agree with Eric with regards to Jazz Prestige being more of a continuation of original Jazz. I have only tried a recent original Jazz, but it never sat well with me ( it made me a bit upset). Jazz Prestige is better, but certainly takes some exposure to understand and accept. I appreciate it as a really good work of perfumery. More woodsy than Live Jazz and the mint note is different.
Live Jazz is nice, but I am still working on it. It never really grabbed me as much as other YSL's.
